  • Publication number: 20120321220
Abstract: To acquire a high-resolution frame from a plurality of frames sampled from a video image, it is necessary to obtain a high-resolution frame with reduced picture quality degradation regardless of motion of a subject included in the frame. Because of this, between a plurality of contiguous frames FrN and FrN+1, there is estimated a correspondent relationship. Based on the correspondent relationship, the frames FrN+1 and FrN are interposed to obtain first and second interpolated frames FrH1 and FrH2. Based on the correspondent relationship, the coordinates of the frame FrN+1 are transformed, and from a correlation value with the frame FrN, there is obtained a weighting coefficient ?(x°, y°) that makes the weight of the first interpolated frame FrH1 greater as a correlation becomes greater. With the weighting coefficient, the first and second interpolated frames are weighted and added to acquire a synthesized frame FrG.

  • Patent number: 8306285
Abstract: Processing for judging whether a face is included in a frame is performed, in a predetermined interval, on each of frames included in a moving image of a subject, displayed on a monitor, until the judgment becomes positive. If it is judged that a face is included in a frame, the facial position is detected in the frame, and stored. Then, judgment is made as to whether a face is included in the next frame after predetermined time. If the judgment is positive, the facial position is detected. The previously stored facial position is replaced by the newly detected facial position, and the newly detected facial position is stored. These processes are repeated until photographing operation is performed by operating a release unit.

  • Patent number: 8189049
Abstract: Binarization is performed using a threshold image obtained by multiplying a variation in each pixel value of an input image with a coefficient. Although the variation is time-averaged based on an update coefficient for each pixel, the update coefficient is switched depending on whether or not a relevant pixel belongs to the object. Subsequently, from the binary image, an initial detection zone is formed and a spatial filtering process is performed thereto. The spatial filtering process includes at least one of skeleton analysis processing, object mask processing, morphology processing, and section analysis processing. For a tracking zone, the temporal positional change thereof is tracked, and the noise is reduced. Some of the tracking zones are removed, and the remaining zones are integrated into a cluster, and furthermore the cluster selection is performed based on the dimensions in real space.

  • Patent number: 8155396
Abstract: An apparatus detects a predetermined number of facial images from detection target images. An inclination order setting means utilizes the correlative relationships among correlative data obtained by a correlative data obtaining means and the inclinations of faces that appear in input images, to determine the relative value of the probability that faces of a predetermined inclination will appear in the input images. The inclination order setting means sets the order of inclinations of faces to be detected such that faces are detected in order of inclinations according to the relative values of the probabilities, based on the correlative data that they will appear. A face detecting means detects faces within the input images while varying the inclinations of faces to be detected according to the set order.

  • Publication number: 20120076267
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for correcting a pixel defect in the capture of two radiological images with parallax therebetween. Radiation beam is directly radiated to a radiation detector 15 in two radiographing directions, without passing through a subject, thereby acquiring two defect detecting radiological images. A pixel defect in each of the two defect detecting radiological images is detected in advance. A pixel position where the pixel defect occurs is stored in advance so as to be associated with each radiographing direction. Then, radiation beam is radiated to the subject from the two radiographing directions to acquire two radiological images for diagnosis. A target pixel which is disposed at the stored pixel position where the pixel defect occurs in each of the two radiological images for diagnosis is corrected.
