  • Publication number: 20230045033
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that determines a current location of a mobile device according to a horizontal reference, obtains a corresponding barometric pressure reading at the current location of the mobile device, and determines a current position of the mobile device according to the current location of the mobile device and the corresponding barometric pressure reading. A historical record of positions of the mobile device is updated according to the current position of the mobile device and other positions of the mobile device determined at other times, and a historical record of positions of the mobile device to a map of a facility is updated to obtain a referenced pattern of movement of the mobile device within the facility. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10366138
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer readable medium generate a webpage using keywords identified from user input and user email communications. The keywords are identified, ranked, and transmitted to a server where a search engine uses one or more of the keywords to identify items of interest such as articles or videos. A web page is generated using selected items of interest or links to the items of interest which may then be displayed to a user as the user's homepage.

  • Patent number: 10174533
Abstract: An intelligent hinge determines motions of a swinging door. The hinge has an accelerometer secured to a leaf of the hinge. As the door swings, the leaf also rotates and the accelerometer determines an acceleration value. A velocity of the swinging door may be determined from the acceleration value. An initial, instantaneous, and final angular position of the door may also be determined from the acceleration value.

  • Patent number: 10146405
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, prior to entering a screensaver mode of operation, a search criteria identifying a requested subject matter, wherein the search criteria is based on a last user-initiated search query to a web-based search engine. In response to entering the screensaver mode, the search criteria identifying the requested subject matter is automatically transmitted to a web browser. Image content referenced by a set of uniform resource locators based upon the search criteria is sequentially presented. In response to receiving user input, a user-selectable region is presented comprising a selectable element superimposed on the first image. Selection of the element causes a defined action generating an e-mail message having an attachment with content referenced by a link associated with the first image. Receiving user input from a second input device ceases presenting of the image. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9710827
Abstract: A communication device is removable and operable within a vehicle and is in communication with a data network as the communication device travels in the vehicle. Vehicle identification data is obtained from the communication device, and a type of media file supported by a media system of the vehicle is determined based upon the vehicle identification data. Media content is obtained in a format corresponding to the determined type of media file. When the communication device is within a desired range of a target location, the media content is transmitted to the communication device for presentation on the media system of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9154471
Abstract: A unified encrypted messaging system transmits messages from a first computer to a second computer by dividing the encrypted message into a plurality of encrypted message fragments. A first portion of the plurality of encrypted message fragments is transmitted via a first protocol and a second portion of the plurality of encrypted message fragments is sent via a second protocol. The first portion may be sent via a first device and the second portion may be sent via a second device where the first device is different from the second device. The dividing the encrypted message may include adding a message identifier and fragment identifier to each of the plurality of encrypted message fragments to facilitate reassembly of the encrypted message upon receipt.
