    Abstract: A two-stage auxiliary section shift actuator (220) is provided which will apply a first relatively smaller force upon preselection of an auxiliary section shift for rapid initiation thereof upon release of an interlock (256). Upon initiation of the auxiliary section shift, the actuator will apply a second larger force to assure rapid engagement of a selected auxiliary section synchronized clutch.
