Abstract: A snow melting apparatus comprises a hopper which forms a lower trough. A pivoting ram/screen assembly prevents large object debris from passing to the trough. A manifold which mounts a plurality of rotating sprinkler heads defines a spray zone for discharging heated water into the centrally disposed snow debris introduced into the hopper. The hydraulic systems of a vehicle are employed to power hydraulic pumps and the ram/screen assembly which also functions as a ram to break up large chunks of snow debris.
