  • Publication number: 20180294048
Abstract: A system for obtaining substantially all medical information available to a specific patient from a network of endpoints and combining the information to create a comprehensive aggregate patient record. The system allows users to access and download their medical information from numerous institutions. The system combines a user's information into a single aggregate record without requiring the patient to interact with numerous patient portals.

  • Publication number: 20150234984
Abstract: A system for obtaining substantially all medical information available to a specific patient from satellite portals and adapted to report that information to authorized individuals and satellite portals. The system polls the satellite portals for the medical information and interfaces with the satellite portals without requiring the patient to interface with the API that intervenes upon patient query between the satellite portal and the patient.

  • Publication number: 20090024416
Abstract: A medical information management system and corresponding methods are described for providing access to healthcare records. The system includes a database system comprising healthcare records of a patient, a healthcare workstation coupled to the database system and an authentication system comprising a processor coupled to the database system. The healthcare workstation is located at a treatment facility or point of treatment that is remote to the database system. The authentication system generates an image of a finger of the patient at the point of treatment, and generates from the image an identification number. The authentication system compares the identification number to a stored number corresponding to the patient, and authenticates the patient's identity when the comparison produces a match between the identification number and stored number. Access to the healthcare records is controlled via the healthcare workstation in response to authentication of the patient.

  • Patent number: 4589408
Abstract: A head covering is disclosed having a face mask portion and a rear portion which substantially completely surrounds the head of the wearer and reaches to the neck, where it may be gathered by a length of elastic, and which is formed of a laminated material incorporating, as a layer, a mat of generally discontinuous thermoplastic microfibers and, as a second layer, a web of continuous thermoplastic filaments, the laminated material providing a combination of bacteria barrier and air permeability properties substantially throughout the head covering which is effective for containment of bacteria while retaining air permeability sufficient to allow the wearer to breathe through the material in the face mask portion where the nose and mouth are covered.

  • Patent number: 4479492
Abstract: A surgical drape for use in procedures requiring exposure of both legs and containment of the perineum comprised of a flexible draping material, a second smaller sheet of foam/film laminate bonded to the first sheet with two elongated fenestrations formed through both layers of sheets. The elongated fenestrations open onto one end of the drape and extend toward the middle of the drape in alignment with the sides and with each other and spaced apart to receive the legs of a patient. The drape is folded to form a compact unit for storage and sterilization and in a manner that unfolding and application of the drape to the patient can be accomplished with a minimum chance of contamination.

  • Patent number: 4384370
Abstract: A back opening gown is disclosed in which the wearer can achieve a sterile back without assistance. The gown comprises a body portion having a front and a back with the back having a first and second panel and wherein the first panel has a flap running lengthwise of the gown. Prior to closure, the flap is folded back over the first panel and preferably releasably secured thereto. After any initial securing of the gown has been completed, e.g., snapped at the neck, an assistant secures the free end of a first belt tie attached to the flap to the rearward end of a belt disposed in a protective belt cover or housing. The wearer then pulls on the forward end of said belt, thereby releasing the flap and covering the non-sterile portions of the back of the gown and pulling the first belt tie and the rearward end of the belt under the belt cover or housing. The forward end of the belt is then secured to a second belt tie on the front portion of the gown. In the manner described, a sterile back is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4349019
Abstract: A surgical cover or drape in the form of a loose fitting legging is disclosed which provides sterile coverage for the abdominal region as well as the legs while limiting undesirable excess material in the perineal area. The surgical cover or drape comprises a generally rectangular main body portion having first and second panels. These panels are secured to each other along their longitudinal edges and at one end to form a sleeve with an open end and a closed end. A cuff is secured to the first panel near the open end of the sleeve to assist the surgical team member fitting the legging over the patient's leg. The surgical cover or drape further comprises an abdominal cover flap secured along one edge to the second panel near the open end of the sleeve.
