    Abstract: A position indicating mechanism for a milling machine or the like includes a position indicator having a rail and a position indicating scale slidably mounted thereto to provide a digital readout of the position of the scale along the length of the rail. A rail mounting bracket is adapted for mounting to the milling machine and for affixing the rail to the milling machine. A scale mounting plate is adapted for connection to the slidable scale, and also for interconnection with a movable collar of the milling machine which moves synchronously with movement of the work-performing component of the machine.
