  • Publication number: 20070082110
Abstract: The invention provides a kit for preparing salads comprising at least one cooked ingredient and at least one fruit, vegetable or cereal product, wherein the kit comprises a cooking composition comprising less than 40% wt of fat and flavouring agents in an amount of from 5 to 100% by weight, based on the weight of the cooking composition, for cooking ingredient (I) and, a dressing comprising 60% wt or less fat for contacting with the at least one fruit, vegetable or cereal product. The kit provides an easy and convenient of preparing tasty, healthy salads comprising a cooked food ingredient. A method of making a salad using the kit and also the salad prepared from the kit is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6988417
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the displacement of visco-elastoplastic media below a surface thereof comprises an upper plate mounted such that a displacement force exerted on the top surface thereof will move the upper plate a displacement distance downward toward a base. Guides maintain the upper plate and the base in alignment such that movement is along a displacement axis. A calibrated bias element exerts a calibrated bias force resisting movement of the upper plate toward the base. A displacement measuring device measures the displacement distance, and is operative to generate a movement signal corresponding to the displacement distance. A data acquisition system is operative to receive and record the movement signal, and calculate the displacement force exerted on the top surface of the upper plate required to move the upper plate the displacement distance against the calibrated bias force.

  • Patent number: 6493123
Abstract: An optical identification system for identifying a vehicle. The system comprises a laser source for generating a transmitted beam and a reflector in optical communication therewith. The reflector is operative to reflect the transmitted beam to thereby generate a reflected beam. The system further includes a shutter in optical communication with the reflected beam and operative to modulate the polarization of the reflected beam with identification information thereby generating a modulated reflected beam. The optical identification system of the present invention further includes a detector in optical communication with the modulated reflected beam. The detector is operative to pass the modulated reflected beam and decode the identification information modulated thereon.

  • Patent number: 5771499
Abstract: A face gasket made of a smooth, non-tacky, low durometer, chemically resistant closed cell resin foam is attached onto a goggles frame by injecting the resin into a mold cavity containing a contoured rim portion of the goggles frame. The contoured rim portion is intersected by multiple sprue openings that permit the pressurized resin to flow through the goggles frame and around the contoured rim during molding. The contoured rim portion is embedded within the molded gasket and sprue slugs extend through and fill the openings. The sprue slugs are integrally formed with the main body of the face gasket, thereby defining attachment links that permanently connect the face gasket in splash sealing engagement around the contoured rim and along internal and external sidewall surfaces of the goggles frame.
