  • Patent number: 5046719
Abstract: A portable amusement ride (A) having a plurality of parachute passenger carrier units (60) is disclosed which includes an elongated town (B) movable from a retracted position to an extended position. A folding arm assembly (C) deploys to provide an umbrella assembly from which parachute carrier units (60) are raised and lowered. Tower (B) is erected by a ram (E) and acutators (F) which act in opposite directions on tower (B) to pull and push it up to the extended position. Base (10) of tower (B) slides on a carrier plate (20) which is guided by track groove (16a, 18a). With tower (B) in the retracted, stowed position, it is locked to the trailer base (12) by means of a support lock (87) so that the tower acts as a tongue to pull the short base trailer. In this way, a very short base trailer may be utilized for the portable amusement ride as would otherwise require a long bed trailer.

  • Patent number: 4652041
Abstract: A mobile vehicle quarters is illustrated which includes a trailer vehicle frame (A) consisting of a number of sectional frames (C). Each sectional frame includes two sides (39a, 39b) each of which includes a base frame (20, 22) and a slidable frame (38, 40). Each sectional frame carries a pair of opposing compartments (B). Two rows (100, 102) of compartments are thus formed on the two sides of the trailer frame. The compartment (B) includes a first section which is fixed to a vertical frame (30, 32) which divides the sectional frame into two sides. The first sections are hung from the vertical frame while a second section (72) slides relative to the thick section (60). The movable section (72) includes a floor section (86) which slides beneath a floor (70) of the fixed section to a nested travel configuration. When moved to an open position, the two sections (60 and 72) provide a living quarters.

  • Patent number: 4513960
Abstract: Apparatus for imparting an undulating motion to an amusement car unit travelling in a circular path is disclosed which includes an upper rotary hub (28) and a lower track rail (D) both of which are carried concentric about a rotary axis (X). The track rail (D) is carried adjacent the ground and supports a carrier arm (C) having a generally L-shaped configuration with one arm (48) pivotably attached to the rotating hub (28). A second cantilevered arm (50) joins the pivotably connected arm (48) at the elbow portion (52). The track rail (D) is formed by a closed perimeter rail (60) having varying radii of curvature. A lower glide bracket assembly (E) pivotably supports the carrier arm (C) above the track rail and by which the carrier arm travels around the rail. A car unit (B) carried on the cantilevered arm (50) is thus caused to move in a circular undulating motion as supported by the above described underneath structure.
