  • Patent number: 4571228
Abstract: Bicycle chain is made of alternating bushing links and pin links. The bushing links have parallel bushings held in interference fit in bushing plates and extended axially beyond the bushing plates, solid metal rolls with a lubricating plating are held loosely on the bushings, and loosely between the bushing plates. The bushings extend axially outward beyond the bushing plates for substantial distances. Pins extend through the bushings and are fixed in pin plates to form pin links which alternate with the bushing links. The pin plates are held outward from the bushing plates for a substantial amount by the axial bushing extensions to prevent dirt build up. The pin plates, bushing plates and bushings are plated with an anti-corrosion plating. The pins and rolls are plated with a porous metal plating with solid polymeric lubricant held within pores of the plating for lubricating the pin-bushing interior interface and for lubricating the roll-bushing and roll-bushing plate interfaces.

  • Patent number: 4501351
Abstract: A chain assembly for easy removal and replacement of a module for supporting and carrying objects along a path parallel to chain movement. The chain has a pin link with a hollow pin adjacent an extended pin. A module having cylindrical shaft and perpendicular plate is inserted into the hollow pin so that a hole in the plate fits over the extended pin. The module is secured to the chain by insertion of a cotter pin into a hole at the end of the extended pin.

  • Patent number: 4283082
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tool for retaining and releasing ringed members. Although primarily intended for use in dispensing ringed members onto Bingo-type game cards, the tool may also be used to release any type of ringed member such as nuts or washers onto screws or bolts. Regardless of its intended use, the tool comprises an axially elongated, hollow tube having oppositely disposed ends, the outer diameter of the tube being less than the inner diameter of a ringed member adapted to be retained thereon and released therefrom. A radially expandable member is secured to one end of the hollow tube and is adapted to reciprocate between a radially retracted position in which individual ringed members may be selectively released from said tube and a radially expanded position in which ringed members are retained on said tube. A recapturing element is secured to the opposite distal end of said tube for collecting ringed members which have been deposited on an adjacent surface.

  • Patent number: 4235073
Abstract: A chain breaker has an interchangeable turret anvil plate mounted on an upper surface of a lower jaw. The lower jaw has a slotted upper portion which extends partially over the anvil plate. An upper jaw has a reduced lower portion which fits within the slotted upper portion of the lower jaw. A retainer pin extends through the slotted portion and holds the jaws together. Near the pin a retaining portion of the upper jaw extends over the anvil plate and the threaded retainer and prevents accidental dislodgement of the anvil plate and threaded retainer. An outer surface of the retaining portion abuts a chain workpiece. A pin connects two handles on a line with the jaw pivot pin, and pins connect individual handles and the jaws on a line which intersects the first line close to the handle pin. A forcer screw in an outer end of the upper jaw carries a breaker tip at its lower end which is positioned just above a cantilevered portion of the anvil plate.
