  • Patent number: 8045752
Abstract: A system for and method of assessing fluid spray using image processing techniques of a calibration and one or more as-sprayed witness cards. Calibration and as-sprayed witness cards are exposed to a backlight sufficient to make a plurality of stains thereon electronically visible. At the same time an image of the stains is captured by, e.g., a digital camera. Resulting image data is processed to assess characteristics of the stains of the fluid on the as-sprayed witness card(s) and thereby assess characteristics of the spray, e.g., volume of fluid delivered. In one embodiment, the witness card is a chemically coated semiopaque plate.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7760352
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing Raman spectrometry wherein a Raman spectroscopy system is mounted on a vehicle for on the move contaminant analysis. The system is configured to interrogate a target with a laser at a predetermined pulse repetition frequency (PRF), wherein during each PRF cycle, defined as 1/PRF, the laser is dual pulsed at a first wavelength and at a second wavelength. Raman spectra are collected and used to identify the target by matching a Raman signature with a given collected Raman spectra.

  • Patent number: 6788407
Abstract: An apparatus for laser interrogation of surface agents moving relative to the apparatus. A receiver telescope includes a secondary reflector that may compensate for variations in distance from a target to the laser. The secondary reflector relies on a distance to target signal that may be collected at a point substantially away from the target, in the direction of relative motion, to allow a focusing mechanism time to react.
