Patent number: 11956994Abstract: The present disclosure is generally related to 3D imaging capable OLED displays. A light field display comprises an array of 3D light field pixels, each of which comprises an array of corrugated OLED pixels, a metasurface layer disposed adjacent to the array of 3D light field pixels, and a plurality of median layers disposed between the metasurface layer and the corrugated OLED pixels. Each of the corrugated OLED pixels comprises primary or non-primary color subpixels, and produces a different view of an image through the median layers to the metasurface to form a 3D image. The corrugated OLED pixels combined with a cavity effect reduce a divergence of emitted light to enable effective beam direction manipulation by the metasurface. The metasurface having a higher refractive index and a smaller filling factor enables the deflection and direction of the emitted light from the corrugated OLED pixels to be well controlled.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Chung-Chih Wu, Hoang Yan Lin, Guo-Dong Su, Zih-Rou Cyue, Li-Yu Yu, Wei-Kai Lee, Guan-Yu Chen, Chung-Chia Chen, Wan-Yu Lin, Gang Yu, Byung-Sung Kwak, Robert Jan Visser, Chi-Jui Chang

Patent number: 8511164Abstract: A detection device of a motor vehicle having a functional unit for transmitting and receiving signals. The functional unit has at least one first and one additional functional element, the signal inputs of which are subject to a comparison to determine an associative signal occurrence, and if the signals are absent in one of the functional elements, a configuration of its transmission/reception range to a road surface to be detected is performed in such a way that the corresponding functional element is forced to received signal reflections if it is functioning. A corresponding method is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2008Date of Patent: August 20, 2013Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Ulrich Klee, Wei-Chia Lee

Patent number: 8279087Abstract: A method for determining a parking spot including at least the following steps: measuring a parking spot and outputting a measured length of the parking spot; comparing the determined length to at least one limiting value and determining an indicator signal; outputting the indicator signal to the driver; recording vehicle dynamics signals, during a parking operation; evaluating the parking operation on the basis of the recorded vehicle dynamics signals and outputting an evaluation signal, and changing the at least one limiting value as a function of the evaluation signal and the indicator signal. An adaptive parking spot measurement is created in which an evaluation of the parking spot length is automatically adapted to the driving behavior and the driving skills of the respective driver, resulting in a particularly high degree of acceptance of the PSM system by the driver.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2004Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Peter Knoll, Andreas Engelsberg, Dietrich Manstetten, Holger Kussmann, Lars Placke, Marc Stoerzel, Ulrich Schweiger, Wei-Chia Lee
