    Abstract: A portable optical tomography design for performing elastographic deformation mapping of tissues comprises a coherence light source providing one light beam; a scanning microscope comprising a waveguide having two terminals, a coupler disposed on one terminal, an actuating member connected to the waveguide or the coupler, a first optical reflection member, a beam splitter, and a Fourier-domain spectrometer. The waveguide is actuated by the actuator to traverse a horizontal and vertical motion to prescribe a two-dimensional plane for scanning the tissue sample. Optical fiber is used to connect above elements therebetween. The Fourier-domain spectrometer is coupled with the beam splitter and comprises a second reflection member and an interferogram capturing member. An interferogram produced from the Fourier-domain spectrometer is carried over to a digital signal processor and subsequently an optical coherence tomography image device to generate a three-dimensional image for the scanned tissue.

The NMOS structure is formed on the P-type well area, and the NMOS structure includes at least one exposed N-type source area, at least one exposed N-type drain area, and at least one exposed N-type gate area. The P-type well contact area is formed on the P-type well area. The shallow trench isolation structure is disposed between the NMOS structure and the P-type well contact area. The charge guiding groove passes through the P-type well contact area and one part of the P-type well area and is electrically connected with the grounding unit.

    Abstract: Apparatus configured for operation in an underwater environment are provided. A device includes a camera and a transceiver. The camera can capture, within a predetermined interval of time, first light within a first frequency range of light and second light within a second frequency range of light. The camera can generate a first image based on the first light and a second image based on the second light. The first frequency range of light can differ from the second frequency range of light; for example, the first frequency range can include 420-450 nanometers (nm) and the second frequency range can include 830 nm. The transceiver can send the images and receive commands based on haptic feedback generated based on the first image and the second image. For example, an actuator can be configured to be controlled by one or more commands.

    Abstract: A method of testing semiconductor devices is provided includes: exposing one end of the device contact on the surface of the semiconductor; using a scanning probe microscopy apparatus to scan a diagnostic area on the semiconductor; applying a direct current bias between the conductive probe and a substrate of the semiconductor; directing a testing radiation at the diagnostic area to increase amount of free carriers in the device contacts and in the semiconductor layer under the device contacts; and detecting the current flowing through the conductive probe and the substrate, wherein a defect current signal is measured when the probe is in contact with a defective device contact and a normal current signal is measured when the probe is in contact with a normal device contact, wherein the testing radiation increases the current measured to increase the difference between the defect signal and the normal signal.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an interferometer comprising a light source, a reflective element, and a photodetector. The light source is configured to emit a light beam, and an angle is formed by inclusion between a direction to which the light beam travels and the reflective element, the photodetector is configured to be substantially perpendicular to the reflective element. The light beam is halved into a first light beam propagating by the included angle, and a second light beam reflected off the reflective element, the first light beam and the second light beam interfere each other to form an interferogram on the photodetector, which detects the interferogram. By benefit of above, the interferometer does not need to reposition its parts in order to make adjustment to interferogram, thereby simplifying optical element setup and minimizing physical volume of the interferomger. Also disclosed is a spectrometer including the same interferometer and a Fourier-transform-capable analyzer.

    Abstract: A system and method for estimating construction duration. The system includes a three-dimensional (3D) building information model (BIM) module, a duration estimation module, and a 4D BIM module. The 3D BIM module constructs a 3D BIM based on inputted modeling instructions and generates quantity information corresponding to the 3D BIM. The duration estimation module calculates duration information for construction work based on inputted construction condition information and the quantity information of the 3D BIM produced. The 4D BIM module constructs a 4D BIM based on the 3D BIM and the duration information. Thus, the present invention can automatically calculate the quantity of building materials, estimate the construction duration, establish a construction progress table, and demonstrate the construction progress of the 4D BIM in an animated way, replacing the traditional way of manually processing information for duration estimation.

The apparatus comprises a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS), preferably integrating a light source, a cantilever, a lens, an actuator, a light detector, and a position sensor. The light source provides light for illuminating the ROI, displaying an image, providing a therapy, and/or performing other functions. The cantilever comprises a resin waveguide with a fixed end attached to a substrate that supports many or all other components. A free end of the cantilever is released from the substrate during fabrication and includes the lens. The actuator scans the free end in orthogonal directions to illuminate the ROI or display an image. The position sensors detect the position of the free end for control. The light detector receives light backscattered from the ROI separate from, or at the fixed end of the cantilever.

The amount of micro-bending, macro-bending, evanescent coupling, change in resonance, change in polarization, and/or change in phase modulation is proportional to the intensity of the pressure/force.     Abstract: Systems and methods for a compact Fourier transform spectrometer. A cell having two transparent walls and containing a liquid crystal medium is placed in a light beam. Applying a voltage across the cell causes the liquid crystal molecules to orient at a certain angle, wherein the angle is a function of the voltage applied. The refractive index if the cell is dependent upon the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules, and from the refractive index of the cell an optical path difference between ordinary and extraordinary waves can be calculated. Accordingly, any suitable optical path difference can be achieved by varying the voltage across the cell for a Fourier transform analysis.
