  • Patent number: 11312542
Abstract: A closure device for a flexible bag includes an elongated first clamp member having a channel and an elongated second clamp member that is configured as a blade that is receivable within the channel. The clamp members are pivotally coupled at a proximal end the clamp members to be pivoted between open and closed positions in a scissor-like fashion. The lower end of the second clamp projects a distance from the opening of the channel when the second clamp member is fully received within the channel when the closure device is in the closed position. The closure device facilitates closing the opening of the flexible bag by folding the open end of the flexible bag around at least the upper end of the second clamp member when the closure device is in the open position. The closure device is moved to the closed position so that the open end of the flexible bag is retained in the folded position when the closure device is in the closed position to effectively close off the opening of the flexible bag.

  • Patent number: 11178826
Abstract: A cultivation bag assembly for the cultivation of microbes, fungi and other organisms includes an inner bag having first and second walls that are joined together along side edges to define an inner bag interior for containing a food substrate and an organism to be cultivated. At least one of the first and second walls is constructed of a layer of water-vapor permeable material to allow the passage of water vapor therethrough. An outer bag having first and second walls is joined along side edges to define an outer bag interior. The first and second walls of the outer bag are formed from gas impermeable layers. The inner bag and outer bag are coupled together at a first end of each of the inner bag and outer bag. The inner bag is contained within the interior of the outer bag in a cultivation configuration. A window is provided on the inner bag to allow one to view the interior of the inner bag through the window.

  • Patent number: 10377982
Abstract: A cultivation bag assembly for the cultivation of microbes, fungi and other organisms includes a bag having first and second walls joined along side edges to define a bag interior for containing a food substrate and an organism to be cultivated. At least one of the first and second walls is constructed of a layer of water-vapor permeable material to allow the passage of water vapor therethrough. A bag wall overlay layer formed from gas impermeable layer is releasably coupled to the bag. The overlay layer overlays the layer of water-vapor permeable material to prevent the passage of gases therethrough. The bag wall overlay layer has an opening with a gas filter patch covering the opening to allow the passage of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases through the gas filter patch to and from ambient air to facilitate incubation of the organism within the interior of the bag.

  • Patent number: 8454085
Abstract: A seat or seat cover having an integral or detachable upwardly extending wall subassembly particularly advantageous for use on a vehicle seat to prevent items from falling into the gap defined by the seat and console of a vehicle and the gap defined by the seat and door of the vehicle. The seat preferably has a flap installed thereon to which the wall assembly may be attached and detached. In another embodiment, the flap may conceal an area on the seat adapted to secure to the wall assembly. A seat cover may have an integral wall subassembly on one or both sides secured to its seams. In another embodiment, a conversion kit for seats which do not have flaps is provided wherein a securement means may be attached to one or both sides of a vehicle seat and said wall assembly attached thereto.

  • Publication number: 20120023709
Abstract: A sterilizeable reusable flexible bag two-piece closure device for closing the open end(s) of a flexible bag installable on the open end of a sterilizeable, reusable the flexible bag. An elongated clamp member and an elongated rod member are removably installed on the top of the sterilizeable, reusable flexible bag. The open end of the flexible bag is folded around the elongated rod member. The combination of the rod member with the bag end folded over the rod member is then inserted into the interior space of the clamp member in order to seal the sterilizeable, reusable flexible bag. The bag closure device is sterilizable by chemical means or autoclaveable, and made of a substantially rigid material such as plastic or metal.

  • Patent number: 6358731
Abstract: A sterilizable cultivation system is provided for growing selected organisms for use in biological applications and the cultivation edible fungi. A sealable, sterilizable container holds a growth substrate in a sterile condition. A separate, adhesive vent filter is provided, which is adhereable to a vent opening in the container. The vent filter is gas permeable and allows gas exchange between the interior of the container and the ambient environment, but prevents the passage of microbes and other organisms into or out of the container. This gas exchange prevents excess carbon dioxide from accumulating in the container and allows necessary oxygen into the container in order to maintain an appropriate growth environment for the selected organisms. The vent filter may be combined with the container (a) during manufacture of new containers, or (b) in the field by the end-user on new containers or on re-cycled containers.
