  • Patent number: 11947416
Abstract: A system and related method identify a weakness of a workflow in a complex system. The method collects runtime data about the complex system. The complex system comprises a plurality of subcomponents, and the method identifies an abnormal operation in the complex system. The method constructs a multi-dimensional cause-and-effect relation matrix among the plurality of subcomponents, and filters one or more related operations using the multi-dimensional cause-and-effect relation matrix.

  • Publication number: 20120034286
Abstract: This invention discloses a stabilized biosolids composition and a method for the stabilization of biosolids. It entails the use of a chemically and biologically reactive material, in the form of ultrafine iron particles. The nanometer-sized iron particles are capable of degrading odorous organosulfur compounds, transforming persistent and toxic organic pollutants such as PCBs and chlorinated pesticides, inhibiting the growth of pathogens by increasing pH and maintaining the increased pH of the stabilized biosolids, immobilizing toxic metal ions such as mercury and lead, and improving the overall quality of biosolids for land application and plant growth.

  • Patent number: 7611637
Abstract: Zero valent iron particles (14) having enhanced surface area are used to treat contaminated groundwater in-situ or above ground. Hollow and/or porous zero valent iron particles (14) having a generally spherical shape and porous surface are produced using a sacrificial substrate (10) and thermal treatment.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 3, 2009
    Assignee: Lehigh University
    Inventor: Wei-xian Zhang
  • Patent number: 7507345
Abstract: Preparation of dispersions of zero-valance nanoscale iron particles and one of soy protein, soy milk, or other soy derivative. The dispersions can be used to treat contaminated soil or water.
