  • Patent number: 5940133
Abstract: A method of error-free, simple programming of a data decoder for the purpose of recording desired data programs is achieved when a data guide table, generated at the transmitter end, for programming the recording, and a data status table for signaling the data programs currently running are evaluated. In addition to date, time, broadcasting company, identifying number and length of the files, the data guide table contains information on the hardware and software configurations, which is required for receiving, for decoding and for outputting the desired data program, and further information for automatically reloading software possibly missing at the receiver end. In this way, it is possible as early as during programming of a data program to carry out a check of the system configuration required at the receiver end and to output an error message or warning to the user if his own system is not suitable for receiving, decoding or outputting the desired data program.

  • Patent number: 5698324
Abstract: Fibers having a tenacity of more than 80 cn/tex and a filament linear density of more than 8 dtex which contain as the fiber-forming material an aromatic polyamide which is soluble in organic solvents and spinnable from isotropic spinning solutions. The fibers can be used for example as reinforcing materials, as heat-resistant insulator materials, for producing filter fabrics or as insulating materials.

  • Patent number: 5654763
Abstract: In order to increase decoding safety of the address frame of a teletext page during the reception of teletext data, and in particular of a page containing higher level supplementary data, without having to apply additional error control steps, the address frame for a teletext row is forecast from the decoded material, and if required, with a corrected address frame of the preceding teletext row. The forecast address frame is compared with the actually received address frame of the succeeding teletext row. If a deviation at two or more information units of a byte are detected during the comparison, and if required during decoding of the received address frame, the forecast address frame is used instead of the received address frame for addressing the data stream of the concerned teletext row.

  • Patent number: 5372760
Abstract: A process for producing fiber from polyarylene sulfide, by melt spinning a polyarylene sulfide into a gas, cooling the spun filaments with a blown gas, taking the filaments off at a high speed, storing the spun filaments, drawing the spun filaments in two stages and after treatment stage, and immediately thereafter heat setting the drawn filaments. Fibers produced by the invention have excellent mechanical properties including tensile strength and transverse strength, and the process is very efficient.

  • Patent number: 5213892
Abstract: Antistatic synthetic bicomponent filaments of the core-sheath type have a core of increased electrical conductivity comprising a synthetic polymer in which solid, electrically conductive particles have been dispersed and a sheath of increased conductivity comprising a filament-forming polymer which contains one or more conventional antistats.

  • Patent number: 4981943
Abstract: A film made from aromatic copolyamides of the dicarboxylic acid diamine type, whose shaping substance comprises certain recurring structural units and which has specific criteria regarding Staudinger index, tear strength, volume resistance, electrical dielectric strength, dimensional stability and water absorption, a process for its production, and the use of the film for the production of heat-resistant insulation material or as a substrate for flexible circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 4933130
Abstract: Process for producing spin-finish-free man-made fibers by melt spinning high polymers having a glass transition temperature of above 100.degree. C. and subsequently drawing the filaments by means of preheater godets to a preset draw ratio, wherein the filaments are not spin-finished prior to drawing but are impinged with a liquid which can evaporate residuelessly during drawing and the temperature of the preheater godet is set not less than 40.degree. C. higher than in the conventional process with spin finish application.

  • Patent number: 4698609
Abstract: A magnetic tripping device for an electrical wiring device includes a U-shaped magnetic yoke, a cylindrical non-magnetic coil form having two end surfaces and a periphery and being disposed in the magnetic yoke, a magnetic core disposed in the coil form, a magnetic armature movably disposed in the coil form, and a compression spring disposed in the coil form between the magnetic core and the magnetic armature, the coil form having at least two radial embossings uniformly distributed over the periphery in the vicinity of the end surfaces for fixing the magnetic core in place in the coil form and for guiding the magnetic armature in the coil form with a limited stroke and a sliding fit.

  • Patent number: 4408548
Abstract: A burner combines air cooling and pulverized coal combustion with air for the combustion of low inflammability coals. A ceramic lining protects the cooled steel mantel of the burner while supplying heat for sustained combustion process. Air preheated in the cooling process is used to preheat the coal and to supply secondary air imparting a helical trajectory to the coal particles close to the ceramic lining. The ceramic lining is formed in situ around the flame chamber from molded plastic ceramic hardened by burner operation.
