  • Patent number: 6450589
Abstract: A brake pressure transducer is to be provided for a hydraulic vehicle brake system that can be actuated by initiating an actuating force (FB) via an actuating element (2) in order to generate a brake pressure for at least one wheel brake (3) by reducing the volume of a hydraulic chamber (4) and that is equipped with a brake force booster (13) in order to superimpose a primary servo force (FS1) on the initiated actuating force (FB). An additional hydraulic chamber (6) is provided whose volume likewise decreases on initiating the actuating force (FB).

  • Publication number: 20020059796
Abstract: A master cylinder arrangement (10) for a vehicle hydraulic brake system has a housing (14) and a bore (16), which is formed in said housing along an axis (A) and in which at least one filling chamber (18) and a first pressure chamber (22) are delimited. A filling piston (38) and a first pressure piston (40) connected thereto displace fluid from the filling chamber (18) to the suction side of a hydraulic pump (60), the discharge end of which delivers pumped fluid into a first brake circuit (64), and from the first pressure chamber (22) into the first brake circuit (64). To realize a desired, so-called “entry behaviour”, the filling piston (38) and the first pressure piston (40) are movable relative to one another by a limited amount (s) along the axis (A).

  • Patent number: 6161903
Abstract: A brake-pressure-transmitter arrangement (1) for a hydraulic motor-vehicle brake system, after an actuating force (F) has been introduced via an input member (brake pedal 2), by reduction in the volume of a hydraulic chamber (4) to be filled with brake fluid, provides a brake pressure at the output of the hydraulic chamber (4) for at least one wheel brake (3). In addition to the hydraulic chamber (4), there is a hydraulic chamber (6) for brake fluid, and the volume of this hydraulic chamber (6) is likewise reduced after introduction of the actuating force (F). To amplify the brake force, an output of this additional hydraulic chamber (6) is in fluid connection with the input side (10e) of a booster pump (10), which delivers brake fluid in the direction from the additional hydraulic chamber (6) to the at least one wheel brake (3).

  • Patent number: 6033039
Abstract: In an electronically controllable braking system for motor vehicles with a brake pressure generator unit which comprises a master cylinder for generating a brake pressure, a brake pedal via which an actuation force can be introduced into the brake pressure generator unit for actuating the brake pressure generator unit, an electronically controllable brake booster, either for amplifying the actuation force introduced via the brake pedal for the actuation of the brake pressure generator unit, or for effecting an actuation of the brake pressure generator unit, as well as sensors which sense the brake pressure generated by the brake pressure generator unit and a parameter for an electronic control unit, which is related to the amplification of the electronically controllable brake pressure booster, there is provided, in order to comply with a very high safety standard at relatively low cost expenditures, that the electronic control unit determines the actuation force which is introduced via the brake pedal from t

  • Patent number: 5970710
Abstract: A master cylinder (10) for a vehicle hydraulic braking system (12) has a housing (18) with a bore (20) formed therein. A piston (22) is guided in a sealing and displaceable manner in the bore (20) and is mechanically connected to a rod-like actuating element (26), by means of which an input force (F) can be transmitted to the piston (22) for pressure conversion. In the bore (20), the piston (22) bounds a pressure chamber (28) and a replenishing chamber (30) arranged on the actuating element side, and has a hydraulically active area (A). In order selectively to increase the pressure intensification of the master cylinder (10), a device (50) is provided which selectively provides a fluid connection between the pressure chamber (28) and the replenishing chamber (30).

  • Patent number: 5772290
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the brake pressure in a vehicle brake system equipped with an electronically adjustable brake booster (10), comprising an actuator (22) which transmits the actuating movement of the brake pedal to a master brake cylinder and has assigned a path limiting element (80) which limits the axial actuating movement of the actuator (22) in that it is received between abutments (90, 92), the apparatus being characterized in that a switch is actuated by the path limiting element (80) together with one of the abutments (90), said switch supplying a signal to the brake booster when the path limiting element (80) abuts the one abutment (90).

  • Patent number: 5769189
Abstract: In order to improve an electrically actuatable automotive parking brake with mechanical emergency actuation, the brake pads (52, 54) of the parking brake, which may be either a disk brake or a drum brake, can be applied or released via gear arrangement (100) arranged within or at the brake. The gear arrangement (100) has one power input and one power output, with the power input being coupled with the one end of a flexible shaft, the other end of which being arranged remote from the brake can be coupled with a manual crank, in order to be able to actuate the parking brake mechanically in the case of a failure of the electric actuation.
