Abstract: In a method for generation of a mapping rule input data of a print data stream structured per line, and which comprises variable data to be printed, are converted into output data of an output data structure. A predetermined structure description file is employed associated with the print data stream and which establishes an arrangement of the data to be printed on a page upon printout. An automatic design data set is automatically generated in which structurally associated print data are comprised structured at least one of per page or per region. The mapping rule is generated by use of a design data set that corresponds to the output data structure. By use of the automatic design data set, the mapping rule describes mapping of data of the automatic design data set to the design data set. The output data structure with respect to content is structured. The output data structure comprises field identifiers that are associated with the data to be printed.

Abstract: In a method, a computer program product and a system for conversion of an input document data stream with one or more documents into a structured data file, source data fields in an input document data stream are automatically positioned for readout of data to be extracted, whereby their positioning occurs by means of absolute or relative addressing. The source data fields are positioned by means of source data regions with which sections of the individual documents are detected. These source data regions are arranged nested and can in turn themselves be positioned absolutely or relatively. The corresponding rules are created in simple fashion via marking of the corresponding source data regions and source data fields in the template document.

Abstract: A method for producing and outputting at least one printed page is provided in which at least one printed page containing several blocks is produce using a first program module. Each block contains first image data of image elements. A representation parameter characterizing image characteristics of a particular block is assigned to each block. An outputting unit outputs image elements on the basis of second image data. The image characteristics of these image elements are determined by outputting parameters. Second image data are produced block by block from first image data using several image processing procedures according to the outputting parameter of the outputting unit. The outputting unit outputs the printed page together with the second image data.

Abstract: In a method or system for conversion of an input data document data stream that corresponds to one of many possible input data formats into an output document data stream that corresponds to one of many possible input data formats, the input document data stream is converted into an internal data format. Document formatting information that establishes a representation of the data in the output format is added as needed to the data in the internal data format. The data are then converted into the output data format.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for representing the halftone of an image. The invention is based upon a combined scanning method with a dither matrix and an error diffusion method. According to the invention, when a halftone value of an image is determined, the colour value of image points which are not arranged next to the image point whose halftone value is being determined are corrected. Several colour values in particular are corrected. According to the inventive method, errors existing when determining a halftone value are distributed over a larger area, enabling predetermined point forms to be substantially maintained by the dither matrix.
