  • Patent number: 5665155
Abstract: The invention relates to a coating material comprising polyorganosiloxanes with ester and/or epoxide groups, linked to silicon atoms over carbon atoms, for modifying the surface of finely divided particles, such as pigments and fillers, or of glass fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 1996
Date of Patent: September 9, 1997
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG.
    Inventors: Werner Hohner, Dietmar Schaefer
  • Patent number: 5401871
Abstract: Organopolysiloxane polyethers with increased resistance to hydrolysis are prepared. Furthermore, a method of rendering an aqueous system hydrolysis-resistant and exhibiting increased wetting property utilizing such polysiloxane polyethers as wetting agents in aqueous systems is described. Aqueous coating systems containing such polyethers exhibit increased wetting property and are resistant to alkaline and acidic hydrolysis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 1994
Date of Patent: March 28, 1995
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG
Inventors: Georg Feldmann-Krane, Werner Hohner, Dietmar Schaefer, Stefan Silber
  • Patent number: 5387467
Abstract: A method for modifying the surface of finely divided particles, such as pigments and filler or glass fiber, is described. The method utilizes organopolysiloxanes with ester groups and long-chain alkyl groups, which are linked over carbon atoms to silicon atoms.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 1992
Date of Patent: February 7, 1995
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG
    Inventors: Werner Hohner, Dietmar Schaefer

  • Patent number: 5246607
Abstract: Methylpolysiloxanes are disclosed which have quaternary ammonium groups linked to silicon atoms via carbon atoms, wherein the ratio of the number of dimethylsiloxy groups to the number of quaternary ammonium groups has a value of 0.5 to 1.5. The methylpolysiloxanes are useful as corrosion inhibitors for preparations consisting predominantly of water, especially coolants, such as cooling lubricants mixed with water, in an amount of 0.01 to 0.1% by weight, based on the total preparation in the form suitable for use.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 1989
Date of Patent: September 21, 1993
    Assignee: Th. Goldschmidt AG
    Inventors: Dietmar Schaefer, Werner Hohner
