Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing organic diisocyanates by reacting the corresponding diamines with phosgene in inert solvents. High-melting diamines from the series of 1,5-naphthalenediamine, tetralindiamine, 1,4-phenylenediamine, durenediamine, and o-tolidinediamine are used as diamines. According to the invention, a suspension of the diamines in inert solvents is produced, wherein dynamic mixing units, selected from dispersion disks and rotor-stator systems, are used, and the obtained suspension is phosgenated.

Abstract: A deflection-controlled roll has a roll shell rotatably mounted about a fixed beam and disposed on a plurality of hydraulic piston support or pressure devices positioned along the roll for exerting forces between the beam and the roll shell. The roll shell is formed of an elastomeric material and is provided with a stiffener insert embedded in the material of the shell for increasing its resistance to circumferential deformation. The stiffener insert may include a metal helical coil extending about the axis of the roll shell or a corrugated tube coaxial with the shell. The roll shell may also include a plurality of annular inserts spaced along the interior of the shell the inner surfaces of which form bearing surfaces for the support devices.

Abstract: A roller for the pressure treatment of webs of goods with a rigid roller core and a hose-shaped roller mantle of rubber or rubber-like material with reinforcing inserts, in which the reinforcing inserts include a monofile coil of a strong substantially non-extensible material e.g. a metallic material or a highly strong synthetic material and extending over the length of said roller mantle. The reinforcing inserts furthermore include two layers of rectilinear thread-shaped strength carriers which extend substantially in the axial direction of the roller in mutually spaced parallel arrangement while being distributed in the circumferential direction of the roller and extending over the length thereof. These two layers of rectilinear strength carriers are respectively located on radially opposite sides of the monofile wire coil.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for making toothed belts of rubber or rubber-like elastic synthetic materials with an enveloping fabric covering, the belt teeth, according to which an enveloping fabric strip is folded into successive folds corresponding to the belt teeth to be formed, and the cavities defining folded portions on the inside of said fabric strip are filled with elastomeric material of the type of which the belt teeth are to be made, whereupon layers of elastomeric material and straight members making up the remainder of the belt to be made are placed upon each other to build up the belt, whereafter the thus obtained assembly is vulcanized.
