  • Publication number: 20100135374
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for crosstalk evaluation of a channel, wherein the channel is represented and/or modeled by a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system connecting a first network component with at least one second network component. The MIMO system contains first coefficients associated with transmission lines that are in particular associated with crosstalk. The crosstalk contains a near-end crosstalk (NEXT) portion and a far-end crosstalk (FEXT) portion. The first network component sends a signal to one second network component; the far-end crosstalk portion and the near end crosstalk portion are evaluated.

  • Publication number: 20100046649
Abstract: A method, an arrangement and a device for transmitting data via a plurality of channels. Additional data d are transmitted via at least one channel, and the transmission of the additional data d influences the transmission of the data in at least one of the further channels. The transmission of the data in the at least one of the further channels is influenced for example in such a way as to reduce interference, such as crosstalk, for instance, in the at least one of the further channels. The additional data d are advantageously transmitted during pauses in the useful data transmission of the at least one channel.

  • Publication number: 20080247417
Abstract: The invention relates, inter alia, to a method in which, by reducing the spectral power density in an underfrequency range (UB) of a transmitting/receiving unit, the fact that the underfrequency range (UB) should not be used to send data is indirectly transmitted. This method is particularly suitable for xDSL processes.

  • Publication number: 20080232394
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel algebraic method wherein sub-groups of subscribers that spectrally influence each other, in a group of broadband subscriber connections or transmission channels connected to an intelligent network node in a star-shaped manner are classified by observing status variations in operation or in test phases of the individual transmissions, and the spectral influence relation or interference relation is identified with or without using specific test signals during the operation of the network node, without interrupting the data transmissions. The fundamental parameters of the data transmission methods of all of the connected subscribers are optimized from the information obtained in this way, for maximum operator use.

  • Publication number: 20070071229
Abstract: A method and a communication system for the detection of at least one other communication device which can be connected to at least one subscriber connection line is provided. The transmission function of the at least one subscriber connection line is monitored with respect to significant modifications in order to detect at least one additional communication device which can be connected to at least one subscriber connection line. The detection of at least one other communication device connected to the subscriber connection line is displayed if a significant modification of the transmission function is determined. Communication devices and/or listening devices having high input impedance connected to the subscriber connection line may be detected.

  • Patent number: 7173967
Abstract: A vector space comprising all of the filter coefficients for different interfering signals is provided, based on an acquired impulse response. A linear vector sub-space comprising all of the optimal filter coefficients for different interfering signals is established from said vector space using a vector space optimization method. The filter coefficients are established from the vector sub-space according to the current interfering signal being detected, during ongoing data transmission and at the maximum transmission speed.

  • Publication number: 20050129227
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for pre-qualifying subscriber connection lines for broadband services. According to said method, a mathematical characterisation of the physical behaviour of the subscriber connection line is obtained by applying a signal to the subscriber connection line to be tested and the output signal is then observed. Conclusions concerning relevant parameters of the subscriber connection line are inferred from said mathematical characterisation with the help of a classical physical models. A combined time-frequency representation, the Weil transformation according to “A. Weil, Basic Number Theory, Grundlehren der mathematischen Wissenschaften, Bd. 144, Springer 1985”, is used to obtain a statistically solid estimation of the aforementioned mathematical characterisation.

  • Publication number: 20030151469
Abstract: A vector space comprising all of the filter coefficients (heq, opt) for different interfering signals (w(n)) is provided, based on an acquired impulse response (hchan). A linear vector sub-space (popt) comprising all of the optimal filter coefficients (heq, opt) for different interfering signals (w(n)) is established from said vector space using a vector space optimization method. The filter coefficients (heq, opt) are established from the vector sub-space according to the current interfering signal (w(n)) being detected, during ongoing data transmission and at the maximum transmission speed.
