    Abstract: A gripper device in accordance with the invention comprises a gripper (3) and a counter knife element (4) that are fabricated separately and joined. As a result of this, optimal material combinations are possible, which will deal with both types of wear, namely between the gripper (3) and the tufting needle (5), on the one hand, and between the knife (6) and the counter knife element (4), on the other hand. The gripper module (1) accommodates the counter knife element (4), which, in turn, supports the gripper (3). The two parts may be joined by caulking, cementing, riveting, screwing or similar measures, or they may be cast together in the gripper module (1). The cutting of the loop is done exclusively between the counter knife element (4) and the knife (6).

    Abstract: An apparatus is described for detecting the presence of a gaseous chemical produced during a chemical-mechanical polishing operation. The apparatus includes a catalytic converter, a reaction chamber and a light sensor. The catalytic converter, heated to about 800° C. converts the chemical to a different chemical product. The reaction chamber produces an excited species; the pressure in the reaction chamber is maintained sufficiently low to substantially avoid collisional deactivation of the excited species, so as to permit real-time detection of the chemical. A light signal from the excited species is input to the light sensor. An output from the light sensor corresponds to the real-time detection of the chemical, thereby permitting real-time control of the chemical-mechanical polishing operation.

A pulse generator is mounted on one of the worm bodies and triggers electrical pulses in the mating measuring transducer which are dependent upon the rotational speed of the worm body. The measuring transducer has a pulse-adjusting and pulse-shaping stage which adjusts the magnitude and/or frequency of the pulses relative to a volumetric flow rate of fuel to the bore. An electric counting mechanism receives the electric pulses from the pulse-adjusting and pulse-shaping stage and typically transmits these pulses to a display unit for display.

    Abstract: Member for mixing and dispensing a two-component mass from a tool arranged to separately squeeze-out the two components. The member includes a mixing tube (1) enclosing a coaxial tube section (2) connected to the front end (3) of the tool for conveying one of the components from a tool outlet (3b) to the mixing tube (1). Another tool outlet (3a) conveys the other component directly into the mixing tube (1). The tube section (2) has a one-way valve at an outlet opening (2b) into the mixing tube (1). The one-way valve includes an expandable tubular sheath (5) covering the outlet opening (2b) through the tube section (2). The one-way valve prevents any backflow of the mixed components from the mixing tube into the tube section. Mixed components which harden within the mixing tube (1) form a seal or block. Accordingly, when the tool squeezing out the component is operated with a blocked or sealed mixing tube, no backflow into the tool can occur.

    Abstract: A data-processing machine having a single operator station is provided with a printer comprising a supply holder on the front of the machine next to the operator station for holding a form band, a support on the machine next to the station with an upwardly concave surface, and a receptacle on the back of the machine below the support for catching the printed form band. A guide and a transport device is provided for guiding the band up from the supply holder in the front of the machine, over the surface of the printing station and down to the receptacle. A printing head which is vertically displaceable above the upwardly concave surface is displaceable horizontally along the surface to print the band. A guide slot extending down toward the supply is pivotal between a down position for normal operation of the machine and a raised position for threading a new form band in and a detent is provided for holding it in the up position during reloading.

    Abstract: A dispenser for a retractable safety belt, to be used by the driver of a vehicle, comprises a holder in which a roller loaded by a retraction spring is journaled. The belt, anchored to the roller and partly wound around it, coacts with an insert in the form of a resilient ribbon which is coiled with the belt about the roller during at least an initial phase of a pull-out stroke and about a collateral axis alongside the belt during at least a final phase of that stroke of exert upon the belt a supplemental biasing force which either aids the force of the retraction spring in the initial phase or opposes it in the final phase. The changeover between the two phases can be brought about by a beginning windup of the free ribbon end, by a diversity of inherent stress in two longitudinally adjoining ribbon sections, or by a detent responsive to the coil diameter which holds the ribbon away from the belt in the final phase of pull-out and lets it rejoin the belt at an intermediate stage of the retraction step.
