Patent number: 11454503Abstract: The invention relates to a method for updating a digital map of a mobile navigation system, in particular a navigation system of a motor vehicle, wherein the updating of map data is improved with respect to the availability of current map data and the minimization of the data volume to be transferred (and thus also the avoidance of the updating of map data that are not required at all). For this purpose, a geographic region comprised by the digital map is divided into a plurality of regions, wherein map data of the digital map represent respective regions, wherein at least one of the regions has a first boundary line directly surrounding the region, wherein the region has an additional boundary line, which surrounds the region with greater distance than the first boundary line at least in some sections.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2019Date of Patent: September 27, 2022Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Sascha Flossbach, Dirk Leistner, Werner Richter, Dimitri Schechter

Patent number: 11231284Abstract: In a method for generating map data of a digital map from raw data of the digital map with improved flexibility, an object-specific correction data set is used for generating the map data. The object-specific correction data set comprises precisely one value of a derived attribute for the map object, wherein the value of the derived attribute contained in the correction data set is allocated to the map object of the map data.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2019Date of Patent: January 25, 2022Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Alexander Lottes, Werner Richter

Patent number: 11113321Abstract: In a method and a corresponding device for managing map data of a digital map for a navigation apparatus, the map data include original map data, wherein the original map data are each associated with one or more original map tiles. A validity indicator is assigned to each of the original map tiles. In the event of an update of an update map tile, associated update map data are assigned and permanently stored, wherein the particular update map tile is provided in order to replace the associated original map tile. After the update map data of the particular update map tile have been successfully stored, the validity indicator of the associated original map tile is set to invalid. During operation of the navigation apparatus, the particular original map tile is loaded if the validity indicator assigned thereto is valid, and otherwise the update map tile associated with the particular original map tile is loaded.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2015Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventor: Werner Richter

Patent number: 8744756Abstract: A method is provided for determining an ecological route attribute, in which at least one current energy consumption value is determined by a motor vehicle. A current measurement location is determined by the motor vehicle. An ecological location attribute, which includes the measurement location and the current energy consumption value, is formed by the motor vehicle and transmitted to a central processor. An ecological route attribute is determined by the central processor on the basis of a plurality of received ecological location attributes, which in each case includes a measurement location, which ecological route attribute describes an energy consumption on a route section which has a prescribed spatial relationship with the measurement locations.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2013Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Christian Gerstberger, Stefan Wiebel, Werner Richter

Publication number: 20050256639Abstract: A method for dynamically navigating a vehicle to its destination, whereby a vehicle-mounted device wirelessly requests route-related data for a driving destination from a traffic center, whereupon the traffic center calculates and stores a route to the driving destination for the vehicle and wirelessly transmits route-related data to the vehicle-mounted device. At least one interruption in traffic flow, which is not located on the calculated route, is monitored in the traffic center and the calculated route is, at least in part, recalculated in the event this interruption in traffic flow eases.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2003Publication date: November 17, 2005Inventors: Mario Aleksic, Cesim Demir, Martin Keppler, Werner Richter

Patent number: 4634685Abstract: A refractory article for casting of liquid melts, especially steel, fabricated from a mixture of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, graphite, a flux component, a synthetic resin binder and a metallic powder. The flux component contains a first flux with a melting point from 550.degree. to 900.degree. C. and a second flux that becomes active in the mixture in a temperature ranging from 1350.degree. and 1550.degree. C. The refractory article need not be heated before use, and the carbon contained therein, which determines the strength of the article, is retained for a much longer period during use, so that the article will have a long service life.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1985Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: Didier-Werke AGInventors: Siegfried Pohl, Ernst Luhrsen, Peter Jeschke, Ortwin Rave, Martin Kienow, Werner Richter

Patent number: 4423833Abstract: A refractory immersion spout includes a spout member having an upper portion and a lower portion. The spout member has a pouring channel and outlet openings extending laterally from the pouring channel. A refractory sleeve covers the outer surface of at least a portion of the lower portion of the spout member. The spout member comprises an extrusion product resulting from the extrusion of a material including 30-75% alumina and 10-30% carbon, with the carbon being aligned longitudinally of the spout member as a result of the extrusion. The sleeve comprises an isostatically compressed member formed of a highly refractory material. The thickness of the lower portion of the spout member is less than the thickness of the upper portion of the spout member, such reduction in thickness resulting from a reduction of the outer size of the spout member. The sleeve is cemented onto the outer surface of the lower portion of the spout member by an alumina-rich refractory cement.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1982Date of Patent: January 3, 1984Assignee: Didier-Werke A.G.Inventor: Werner Richter
