Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of hydrocarbon-rich gels as a safe storage or transportation form for liquid hydrocarbons and to a process for the safe storage and safe transportion of liquid hydrocarbons, characterised in thata) the hydrocarbon is converted into a hydrocarbon-rich gel by addition of a surfactant and water andb) after storage or transportation has taken place, the hydrocarbon-rich gel is broken down again.

Abstract: The use of products of the reaction of alkenyl-spirobislactones of the formula ##STR1## in which R is in each case C.sub.8 -C.sub.200 -alkenyl, with amines of the formulaNR.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be identical or different and at least one of these groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2 or R.sup.3 is C.sub.8 -C.sub.36 -alkyl, C.sub.8 -C.sub.36 -alkenyl or cyclohexyl and the other groups are hydrogen or a group of the formula --(A--O).sub.x H or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NYZ, A is --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 -- and/or --C.sub.3 H.sub.6 --, x is a number from 1 to 20, n is 2 or 3 and Y and Z may be identical or different and are hydrogen or a group of the formula (--A--O).sub.x H, as paraffin-dispersants in middle distillates and crude oil.

Abstract: Fatty acid esters of oxalkylated alkylalkylenediamines, which may be quaternized:Esters of oxalkylated alkylalkylenediamines, which may be quaternized, of the formula ##STR1## where the individual symbols have the meaning given in the description, process for their production and their use as corrosion inhibitors, particularly in crude oil recovery plants and crude oil treatment plants.

Abstract: A process for selective flotation of phosphate minerals, wherein a compound of the formula 1a or 1b ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is branched or unbranched C.sub.8 -C.sub.24 -alkenyl, R.sup.2 is branched or unbranched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and M is hydrogen, ammonium, triethanolammonium, an alkali metal atom or an alkaline earth metal atom, is added as a collecting agent to the flotation suspension.

Abstract: Salts of alkenylsuccinic acid monoamides of the formulae ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.6 -C.sub.22 -alkenyl, preferably C.sub.9 -C.sub.18 -alkenyl, A is the protonized radical of an amidoamine of the formula II ##STR2## R.sup.2 is C.sub.5 -C.sub.22 -alkyl, preferably C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 -alkyl, C.sub.5 -.sub.22 -alkenyl or cycloalkyl, preferably C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 -alkenyl or cycloalkyl, R.sup.3 is a group of the formula ##STR3## R.sup.4 is either a group of the formula --COR.sup.2, R.sup.5 at the same time being hydrogen, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 at the same time have the same meaning as R.sup.3, Y is hydrogen or methyl, n is a number from 0 to 12 and x is a number from 1 to 3. These compounds are suitable as corrosion inhibitors in water-in-oil emulsions, in particular for petroleum and petroleum products.

Abstract: An improved and simplified process for preparing terephthalic acid monoamide derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R denotes hydrogen, an alkaline earth metal or alkali metal cation or methyl, R.sub.1 denotes C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 -alkyl, preferably C.sub.12 -C.sub.22 -alkyl, and R.sub.2 denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.30 -alkyl or, preferably hydrogen, in which dimethyl terephthalate is reacted with an amine of the formulaHNR.sub.1 R.sub.2in methanol and in the presence of sodium methylate. The compounds thus obtained are used for gelling oils and organic solvents.
