  • Patent number: 7062961
Abstract: A state information system for acquiring measured values of chemical and/or physical variables during the production, processing or finishing of a material, in particular in the case of a printing material web in a web-fed press, includes at least one sensor for recording the chemical and/or physical variables, the state information system being provided on or in the material such that the operating process carried out with the material remains unaffected by it.

  • Patent number: 6889611
Abstract: A smoke shell (10) which includes a shell casing (12), an ogive (14) fixed to the shell casing (12) and a base (22) releasably connected to the shell casing (12). The ogive (14) has a time fuse (18) operatively connected to an ejection charge (20). A number of smoke pots (26) are provided in the shell casing (12) adjoining each other and the base (22) and an ejection plate (28). An ignitor charge (30) is mounted to the ejection plate (28) in the proximity of the ejection charge (20).

  • Publication number: 20020144620
Abstract: A closure for a pyrotechnic unit ensures that upon the build-up of pressure of a pyrotechnic charge (24) no pieces which fly off occur. That is achieved in that the cover (4) has a desired-rupture location (32) in the form of a circular ring, except for a portion (14), wherein the residual cover (36) which tears open is non-detachably connected to the cover (4).

  • Patent number: 5789695
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for dismantling and reassembling projectiles which contain a plurality of safety-activatable bomblets in one or more cluster layers. The method and apparatus are particularly useful for disassembling bomblets from a projectile of a first caliber, and loading the bomblets into a projectile of a second caliber. In the first projectile having its casing and components disassembled uncovers an uppermost bomblet layer. The bomblet layer is seated against a first transport cover configured to correspond to a positional pattern for those bomblets of the projectile being disassembled. The bomblet layer is pneumatically held against the first transport cover. A bottom cover is detachably secured to the first transport cover under the bomblet layer, and the fuse of each bomblet is secured. This forms a safe container for moving the bomblets.

  • Patent number: 4579695
Abstract: A process for the production of a cast explosive charge which is fixedly adherent to a charge carrier, such as projectile casings, housings for explosives, warheads, mines, and the like, wherein a liquid explosive is applied onto the preheated charge carrier which is provided with a coating applied as a suspension, and the charge carrier is thereafter cooled down through regulating of the temperature. The suspension is applied on the charge carrier which has been brought to approximately room temperature, to a coating thickness of between about 10 .mu.m and 100 .mu.m, the suspension being essentially constituted of 14 to 46% by weight of a binding resin which is non-hardening in oxygen and having a softing point below the melting point of the explosive; 6 to 26% by weight of a pigment composition; and 24 to 66% by weight of a polymeric solvent composition.

  • Patent number: 3982772
Abstract: An apparatus for turning a compost silo has a portal frame adapted to travel along the ground in a travel direction and a pair of side portions spaced sufficiently apart transverse to the direction to straddle the silo. A pair of oppositely handed augers extending transverse to the travel direction between the side portions are rotatable to turn the silo. At each end this double auger is connected to the output of a respective angle drive having an input directed forwardly and connectable via a rod to the power takeoff of a tractor in front of and to one side of the frame relative to the travel direction. A tow bar has a rear end pivoted on the frame midway between the side portions and a front end connectable to the hitch of the tractor. Thus, this apparatus may follow the tractor to either side of the tractor.
