  • Publication number: 20230249089
Abstract: The invention relates to a truss-type rail for an amusement ride, having two rail tubes which are directly trafficable by a roller coaster train; a non-trafficable truss chord tube; and vertical truss profiles, which reinforcingly connect the rail tubes and the truss chord tube and include vertically diagonal profiles alternatingly ascending and descending diagonally between the truss chord tubes and the rail tubes. According to the invention, in at least one connection region of the vertically diagonal profiles there are no additional vertical truss profiles connected to the truss chord tube.

  • Patent number: 6755749
Abstract: The invention relates to a free-fall tower for a roller coaster, comprising an approximately or a precisely vertical rail system for a passenger unit, which moves from the lower end to the upper end of said tower, from where the passenger unit can freely fall down to subsequently reach said roller coaster course. In the region of the upper end of said tower, the fixedly secured passenger unit is rotated around an approximately or a precisely vertical axis to allow the passenger unit to freely fall down on another rail of said tower. This results, in combination with a roller coaster course, particularly in combination with a second tower of similar construction, in new, eventful ride effects.

  • Patent number: 6550393
Abstract: A wooden rail for a ride, in particular for a roller coaster, includes a number of layers of individual planks/boards, laminated veneer wood or presspahn wood, bonded with each other and milled to the precise rail form in accordance with a roller coaster design. In a method for the fabrication of such a wooden rail, the layers are bonded with each other to form an oversized wood package and, after hardening, the bonded wood package is given the precise rail form in accordance with the design of the ride by means of machining. Finally, in a method for mounting such a wooden rail on a rail support that is fixed to a trestle of the ride includes mounting finished rails having steel sheets, rail joints and connection elements to the rail support.

  • Publication number: 20010003261
Abstract: A wooden rail for a ride, in particular for a roller coaster, comprising a number of layers of individual planks/boards, laminated veneer wood or presspahn wood, bonded with each other and milled to the precise rail form in accordance with the roller coaster design. Furthermore, the invention refers to a method for the fabrication of such a wooden rail, wherein the layers are bonded with each other to form a wood package in oversize and wherein, after hardening, the bonded wood package is given the precise rail form in accordance with the design of the ride by means of machining. Finally, the invention also refers to a method for mounting such a wooden rail on a rail support, fixed to a trestle of the ride, wherein the finished rails, particularly those provided with steel sheets, rail joints and connection elements, are secured to said rail support.

  • Patent number: 5201876
Abstract: The method for determining impact energy of a type element of the printing machine includes providing at least two different-length flight paths for the type elements by changing a distance between a resting position of the hammer and a place of impact of the type elements by at least one known amount; measuring at least two different hammer flight times corresponding to the at least two different-length flight paths of the type elements differing by the at least one known amount, each of the different hammer flight times being equal to a difference between a time of impact of one of the type elements and a time of onset of current flow in the hammer electromagnet; forming a difference between two different hammer flight times; dividing the known amount by which the two flight paths associated with the two different hammer flight times differ by the difference determined for the two hammer flight times to obtain a speed of the type element at impact and thus the impact energy of the type element.
