Werner Vogt has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20050118385
Abstract: The invention relates to a card having a card base body (20) and a plastic layer (30) joined thereto. According to the invention, the delimiting edge(s) of the plastic layer (30) is/are set back from the card edge(s) and comprise(s) projections that terminate with the edge(s) of the card base body (20) in a flush manner.

  • Publication number: 20030173409
Abstract: A transport or conveyer unit for a chip, particularly for a (GSM) telephone chip (SIM card), is characterised by a CD card known per se in the usual credit or bank card format, which has a mounting or fixing area for the telephone chip and whose data track contains information from the chip telephone company sending the chip to the person acquiring the (telephone) chip.

  • Publication number: 20030112202
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a tag encompassing an antenna or coil that is capable of at least one of wirelessly transmitting information to remote receivers and receiving information from remote transmitters. The method includes die-cutting a coil or antenna shape from an electrically conductive flat double foil having an upper electrically conductive flat foil layer of a soft, inelastic metal and a lower synthetic film substrate layer, the die-cutting including cutting with a die-cutting tool having a single die-cutting blade which matches the desired antenna or coil shape, the blade completely perforating the upper electrically conductive flat foil and at least partially separating the lower synthetic film substrate so that a gap the distance created in the flat foil by die-cutting remains after the die-cutting tool is removed. Subsequently the cut shape is bonded with additional layers including an electronic chip module.

  • Patent number: 6274659
Abstract: The process for production of a heat-stable and light-fast product consisting of multifilaments, monofilaments or flock for textile and industrial applications includes mixing from 0.2 to 0.5% by weight, based on the amount of product, of a UV absorber having a melting point of from 135 to 145° C. and a colorant having a melting point greater than 180° C. with a polyester powder at room temperature to form a starting mixture; feeding from 1 to 100% of the starting mixture and from 0 to 99% by weight PET granules into a cooled feed zone of a twin-screw extruder; operating the twin-screw extruder to melt, knead and homogenize the feed to form polymer strands, which are then cooled and cut to form a compound; and subsequently melt-spinning the compound to form the product. When the product is made by this method the UV absorber is incorporated in the product, thus avoiding the additive-related manufacturing problems.

  • Patent number: 5804026
Abstract: For producing identity cards, access cards, identification cards, or the like, containing electronic and/or electric components, including such with outwardly directed contacts, it is proposed that at least one central layer of the card, containing also the electronic and/or electric components or consisting thereof, be initially retained in floating condition by adhesive quantities applied as floating mass at least on one inner face, and be then progressively compressed to a thickness that is predetermined by stops, without any application of heat, and be finally cured so that the electric and/or electronic components are supported in the finished card, embedded in the intermediate adhesive layer so formed.

  • Patent number: 5399223
Abstract: For laminating layers consisting at least in part of thermoplastic films, in particular for producing identification cards, or the like, carrying information and/or data, a method is proposed where the blank, after having been introduced between pressing dies, is initially subjected to the pressure and heat required for complete lamination of the blank. Heat dissipation is prevented during heating by the fact that cooling components are kept at a predetermined distance from the heating surfaces. During a subsequent transition from heating to cooling, the heating effect is terminated and cooling bodies are brought into contact with the pressing and heating components, for reducing the temperature of the completely laminated product.

  • Patent number: 4853525
Abstract: A forgery-proof optoelectric card system is disclosed which includes a reader and code card comprising invisible light and dark codings forming at least one reading track. At least one reading head is provided which may comprise a photodiode as a ligh source and a phototransistor as a light receiver. The light codings having a first pass band to infrared light. Superimposed over selected ones of said light codings are filters having an attenuation band that is narrower than and lies within the pass band of the light codings. Additionally, a secondary light receiver responsive only to light lying within the attenuation band of the filter is provided.

  • Patent number: 4635965
Abstract: A method for producing an information carrier in the form of a card, such as an identification card or pass, as well as an information carrier produced in accordance with this method. The information carrier comprises a plurality of plastic layers combined with one another into a block, at least one of which contains a photograph of the bearer and/or his fingerprint and/or other readable or machine-readable data in the form of a photographic layer. This photographic layer is produced and incorporated into the sandwich of plastic layers making up the identification card in that a specially prepared film is exposed to light, developed, fixed and dries, and then the carrier layer of this film sandwich is removed from the emulsion after the emulsion has entered into an adhesive bond with a first plastic carrier layer, this adhesion being substantially greater than the adhesion of the emulsion to the film's auxiliary carrier, which is to be removed.
