  • Patent number: 4415298
Abstract: The present freight locking mechanism is constructed especially for use on the loading or freight floor of an aircraft. For this purpose all the components are arranged between two flat, horizontally extending frame members in such a position and coordination that all components may be retracted below a level defined by the upper edge of the horizontal frame members. Two freight locking members are effective with their respective claw in opposite directions. The locking members have different width so that they may be arranged next to each other, or one between the legs of the other between the frame members. Each locking member is journalled for a tilting movement and biased by a respective torque spring in such a manner that a release lever (8) may automatically establish a loading or unloading status of the mechanism in response to movement of a freight item over the mechanism in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 4269376
Abstract: Explosive decompressions in an aircraft or in a spaceship are controlled in individual rooms or compartments thereof by including in the walls, which separate these rooms or compartments, zones or boundaries of such zones which have an inherent rated or predetermined breaking characteristic whereby these zones or boundaries may break in one or the other direction depending on which compartment the decompression started.

  • Patent number: 3986460
Abstract: An anchoring device for securing freight containers to the freight deck of an aircraft. A plurality of locking hooks are pivotally secured to the flight deck beneath the surface thereof. A resilient device is provided to urge the locking hooks to an upright position wherein the hook portion of the locking hook projects above the surface of the freight deck. The locking hooks, when in the retracted position beneath the surface of the freight deck are locked in position by a pair of locking mechanisms. One of the locking mechanisms is connected to a roll-over bar and the other locking mechanism is a manually operated release lever. The roll-over bar will be moved in response to an engagement therewith by a freight container. As a result, when a freight container has engaged the roll-over bar, the first locking mechanism will be released and the locking hook will only be released from a holding by the second locking mechanism by an operation of a manually operated release mechanism.
