    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining transmit diversity order and branches for a transmitter having at least two transmit diversity branches. The transmit diversity branches for use are determined based on estimated channel properties of transmit diversity branches. A network element and a radio transmitter, where transmit diversity branches are determined using estimated channel properties, are also discussed.
