  • Patent number: 11951306
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to increasing protection against electric shocks when a person is working on an electrical system. In some embodiments, the electrical system includes at least two different circuits and a safety module. An emergency signal input is provided on the safety module, and when an external emergency signal is received via the emergency signal input, the safety module shuts off a configured first circuit the associated switch and at least one further circuit via the associated switch if the safety module still receives the emergency signal at the emergency signal input after a predetermined period of time.

  • Publication number: 20230228817
Abstract: A test system (10) for testing an electric device (30), in particular a high-voltage device, has a portable main device (100) with a housing (140), an electric connection assembly (120, 121) and a mechanical connection assembly (145) and has a portable additional device (200, 300) with a separate housing (240, 340), an electric connection assembly (220, 320) and a mechanical connection assembly (245). The main device (100) can be mechanically connected to the additional device (200, 300) in a releasable manner by coupling the mechanical connection assemblies (145, 245) to form a structural unit, wherein the main device (100) can be electrically connected to the additional device (200, 300) via the first electric connection assemblies (120, 121, 220, 320).

  • Patent number: 11393314
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a system for increasing the protection against electric shocks of a person working in proximity to an electrical system. In one example embodiment, the system includes a plurality of first radio terminals, via each of which a radio link for receiving an emergency signal can be established. The system further including a protective device to be worn by the person and for detecting an electrical body current. The protective device including a second radio terminal that, in the event that an unacceptable body current is detected, outputs and transmits an emergency signal via a radio link established between one of the first plurality of radio terminals and the second radio terminal.

  • Patent number: 9547044
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the measurement of a resistance of a switching contact of an electrical circuit breaker. A first resistance value across the circuit breaker is determined while the circuit breaker is grounded at both sides and the switching contact is closed. Further, a second resistance value across the circuit breaker is determined while the circuit breaker is grounded at both sides and the switching contact is open. The resistance of the closed switching contact is then determined based on the first resistance value and the second resistance value.

  • Patent number: 7791354
Abstract: A system (10) for monitoring PLC impedance of a phase conductor 12.1 of a high voltage overhead power transmission line (OHTL) 12 comprises a hybrid 40 comprising a first port (40), a second port (40.2) and a third port (40.3). The hybrid is configured to divide power received at the first port between the second and third ports, at least partially to isolate the second port from power received at the third port and at least partially to isolate the third port from power received at the second port. The isolation is a function of an impedance connected to the first port 40.1. The first port is connected to the phase conductor. The second port is connected to be driven by an alternating signal source (14). The second and third ports are connected to a monitoring logging device (42) for monitoring signals at the second and third ports, thereby to monitor the isolation at second and third ports and hence impedance at the first port.
