  • Publication number: 20180174212
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for providing item information via a network page of an electronic marketplace. A set of items associated with a potential order of an electronic marketplace may be obtained. The set of items may be associated with a threshold condition that must be met prior to enabling completion of the potential order. Item information associated with the set of items, electronic representations of a portion of a plurality of related items, and a remainder value may be displayed on a network page provided by a mobile device. The remainder value may indicate a difference between a current state of the set of items and the threshold condition. A request to associate a related item of the plurality of related items with the potential order may be received. The set of items may be updated and the remainder value may be modified based on the update.

  • Patent number: 9959437
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for making ordinary objects network-enabled interfaces. A radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag may be fixed or detachably attached to an item capable of being manipulated by a person to obtain information about the item or to cause a performance of a task associated with the item. The RFID tag may include a capacitive touch interface that, when manipulated by a person, causes the RFID tag to emit an identifier associated with a corresponding item. A receiver, having the identifier and an instruction from a person, may communicate with a remote computing device to process the instruction and to generate a response to the instruction.

  • Patent number: 9940662
Abstract: Aspects of tag-based product monitoring and evaluation are described. In one embodiment, a system directs a tag reader to interrogate an RFID tag provided on a product package for a product. In response, the system receives a unique identifier, product detail data, and product usage data from the RFID tag. In certain cases, the system can place an order for the product on an electronic commerce platform based on the unique identifier, the product detail data, and the product usage data. For example, the system can identify when the product package was opened with reference to the product usage data, determine that the product is expired based on when the product package was opened, and place the order for the product based on the product being expired.

  • Patent number: 9928481
Abstract: In some examples, a reader system is provided for managing inventory items in an inventory system. The reader system may be configured to read tags associated with items stowed in an inventory holder. The inventory holder may be detachably coupled to a mobile drive unit. The mobile drive unit may move the inventory holder to a first position near an antenna of the reader system and the tags may begin to be read. While reading or at other times in the reading process, the mobile drive unit may move the inventory holder relative to the antenna. The identified tags may be compared to a manifest list of items expected to be stowed in the inventory holder.

  • Patent number: 9792796
Abstract: Where a safety requirement mandates contact with a grippable structural element such as a handle, a handrail, a handlebar or a steering wheel, compliance with the requirement may be determined using one or more manually activated RFID tags provided in designated locations on the grippable structural element. A level of compliance with the requirement during a given activity may be determined based at least in part on the number of RFID signals received from the manually activated RFID tags, which may be compared to a number of workers engaged in the given activity. Based on the level of compliance, relevant feedback in the form of electronic messages, signals or sounds may be identified and provided to one or more of the workers.
