  • Patent number: 11080580
Abstract: A chip-based card is provided with on-card security. The card in a non-activated state is fully resistant to any power received from a card reader, such that a chip in the card is unable to be powered on by the card reader when the card is inserted to the card reader for a transaction. A plurality of pressure contact points are provided on the card. When a correct number of correct pressure points are pinched by a card holder before insertion of the card into the card reader, a custom amount of resistance is removed such that a custom amount of voltage is capable of being received from the card reader for powering up the chip. In an embodiment, the customized voltage drives firmware execution on a processor of the chip to produce customized output for the transaction.

  • Patent number: 10924476
Abstract: Real-time facial recognition is augmented with an additional second biometric-based security gesture authentication. Facial biometric authentication is performed on a user for access to a resource. When facial authentication is successful, an image or a video of the user is captured performing a security gesture. Pixel values from the image or video are compared against expected pixel values for the security gesture and when the comparison is within a threshold, the user is provided access to the resource.

  • Patent number: 10862898
Abstract: An address for a protected resource of a device is randomized at configurable intervals of time as a randomized address. The randomized address is pushed to the Operation System (OS) for mapping the randomized address to an OS identifier for the protected resource. Other devices of a network produce a same randomized address for the protected resource based on a time-based synchronization.

  • Patent number: 10706691
Abstract: Dual Self-Service Terminal (SST) Virtual Machines (VMs) are provided. A VM is selected for processing a transaction on the SST as an active core. The active core is dynamically switched back and forth between a first VM and a second VM on a per-transaction basis. Upon failure, a last-successful image for the failing VM is reloaded for the failing VM when the failing VM is scheduled to be cycled back to the active core.

  • Patent number: 10679082
Abstract: Real-time facial recognition is augmented with a machine-learning process that samples pixels from images captured for the physical environmental background of a device, which captures an image of a user's face for facial authentication. The background pixel points that are present in a captured image of a user's face from a camera of the device are authenticated with the image of the user's face. The value of the background pixel points are compared against the expected values for the background pixel points provided by the on-going machine-learning process for the background.

  • Patent number: 10592904
Abstract: A shim detection device is selectively interfaced to a portion of a chip card reader that is integrated into a terminal. The shim detection device is configured to detect when a shimmer is inserted into the chip card reader during a card transaction at the terminal and take an automated action in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 10504019
Abstract: A contactless card is provided. The card in a non-activated state lacks a circuit between a chip on the card and an antenna on the card. When one or more contact points on the card are pressed, the circuit is formed and the chip is powered on through an antenna that receives signals from a card reader. Once powered on, in an embodiment, the chip produces a one-time transaction specific token for authenticating a transaction using the card.
