  • Patent number: 5093960
Abstract: A window hinge assembly for mounting a window sash to a window frame including an elongated track mountable along an axis to the window frame and a generally planar sash arm mountable along an axis to the window sash. The sash arm is also mounted for movement in a plane parallel to the track axis and has one end positionable adjacent one track end when the window sash is closed. A pair of mirror image hat members are interchangeably attachable separately to the arm one end and the track one end, where each of the hat members have a base selectively securable to the arm and the track and a perpendicularly bent edge on one end. The hat member bases are trapezoidal and attached to the arm and track so that the outwardly facing base side is shorter than the parallel opposite base side, with the bent edge protruding perpendicularly from the base.

  • Patent number: 4907832
Abstract: A secondary locking mechanism having a lock mountable to a sliding closure, such as a sliding window or sliding patio door, and a stop block mountable to a frame member which mounts the sliding closure. The lock has a pivotable stop arm which is spring-retained in an inactive position wherein a foot of the stop arm travels in a path of movement along with the sliding closure which is out of interfering relation with the stop block and an active position wherein the foot of the stop arm is positioned to engage beneath an inclined end of the stop block to prevent further movement of the sliding closure in a direction toward the stop block. One or more stop blocks can be mounted in various positions on the frame member to assist in locking the sliding closure in a fully-closed position and to prevent further opening movement of the sliding closure when it is in a partially-open vent position.

  • Patent number: 4079243
Abstract: A light fixture of the type enclosing a plurality of standard dry cells. An outer, support member forms an outer housing to be affixed to a wall, ceiling or other fixed object. The outer housing receives an inner housing comprising a unitary battery enclosure, reflector and lamp socket receptacle. A sheet of resilient foam material disposed between the outer and inner housings is compressed upon assembly of the two members and urges them apart to aid in separating the members when latches are released. A dome-shaped lens attaches to the inner housing to protect the lamp and to diffuse the light which it produces. The enclosures for the batteries which are formed by the inner housing are provided with partitions separating the batteries, and upstanding bosses about certain of the contacts therefor, to prevent completion of an electrical circuit should any of the cells be reversed during installation.
