Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for displaying data in a wireless terminal. The method includes receiving, at the wireless terminal, a message including image data, from another wireless terminal; informing a user of the wireless terminal that the message is received; detecting a first selection of the message; upon detecting the first selection of the message, identifying a type of the image data included in the message; displaying a thumbnail image of still image data, if the identified type of the image data included in the message is the still image data; displaying a thumbnail image of dynamic image data, if the identified type of the image data included in the message is the dynamic image data; detecting a second selection of the thumbnail image of the still image data or the dynamic image data; and displaying the image data of the message, in response to the second selection.

Abstract: A method for implementing a navigation key function in a mobile communication terminal using fingerprint-recognition. The mobile communication terminal includes a fingerprint-recognition sensor divided into a plurality of image detection blocks. The method comprises recognizing a fingerprint over at least one of the plurality of image detection blocks, obtaining a directional characteristic corresponding to a direction indicated by the at least one of the plurality of image detection blocks that has recognized the fingerprint, and then determining a directional value based on the obtained directional characteristic to perform a corresponding directional process.

The display method includes the steps of attaching image data selected in a message mode; displaying the attached image data in a form of a thumbnail image; and transmitting a message including the thumbnail image. Another method for displaying data in a wireless terminal is disclosed, which includes the steps of: attaching a file selected in an email mode; displaying the attached file in a form of a thumbnail image; and transmitting an email including the thumbnail image. Another method for displaying data in a wireless terminal is disclosed including the steps of displaying a thumbnail image attached to a message when the message is received and displaying original image data of a selected thumbnail image when a predetermined thumbnail image is selected from the displayed thumbnail image.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transmitting a message in a wireless terminal. The method includes the steps of checking a size of message contents to be transmitted when the message contents are input in a message writing mode, calculating an available data attachment capacity based on the size of the message contents, photographing an image to be attached to the message with a size (e.g., a number of pixels or bytes) within the available data attachment capacity and attaching the photographed image to the message, and transmitting the message with the attached image when a transmission key is operated.

Abstract: A call origination method and mobile communication terminal for using a short key in the mobile communication terminal are provided for performing call origination conveniently, where a short key setup menu is received, at least one number is received, for which short keys are set according to the short key setup menu, a phone number of a phone book is received, which corresponds to the received number, and the number as a short key is set. When the number set as the short key is input by a user, a call to a phone number corresponding to the number is originated.
