Abstract: An assembly includes a toroidal induction component, a potting cup, and potting material. The toroidal induction component includes a conductive winding, where at least ends of the conductive winding define a lead set of the toroidal induction component. The potting cup is configured to accept the toroidal induction component and its lead set. Techniques for forming the assembly are also described.

Abstract: An Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) shield termination and support apparatus for a cable to be terminated at a printed wiring board (PWB) comprises a metal shield conductively attached to an EMI shield metallized area on a portion of the PWB. In a preferred embodiment, the shield comprises an EMI shield cap having a cable opening for receiving the cable to be terminated and a strain-relief feature to assist in providing strain relief to the cable soldered to the PWB. The combination of the shield and the metallized area provide EMI shielding to an end of the cable to be terminated. One cable or multiple cables may be terminated in accordance with described embodiments.

Abstract: A printed wiring assembly is provided. The printed wiring assembly comprises a printed wiring board; an electrical component adapted to electrically couple to the printed wiring board via one or more leads; and a mounting device having a base adapted to non-adhesively fasten to the printed wiring board, wherein the base has a cavity formed by at least one side wall and a bottom wall of the base which receives and partially encapsulates the electrical component.
