    Abstract: A conveyor system for conveying pies from an oven to a pie wrapping machine comprising a cooling conveyor, an accumulator conveyor and a retarder conveyor. Optical sensors extend along the sides of the accumulator conveyor to determine the backlog. The output of the sensors are utilized to vary the rate of speed of the cooling conveyor to assure a proper backlog on the accumulator conveyor.
