  • Patent number: 9616648
Abstract: A profile carrier includes a base profile of metal and a reinforcement member of fiber-reinforced plastic material that reinforces the base profile. The reinforcement member and the base profile are connected to each other by at least one wall-side positive-locking element that is provided on a profile wall of the base profile and that extends in a transverse direction of the profile wall. The at least one wall-side positive-locking element and the reinforcement member engage one inside of the other in the transverse direction of the profile wall with a positive-locking connection between the reinforcement member and the base profile formed substantially parallel to the profile wall.

  • Publication number: 20080023445
Abstract: A switching contact is disclosed for vacuum interrupters, having a radial or axial magnetic field. In at least one embodiment, the switching contact includes a switching contact carrier and a contact plate. The switching contact carrier contains a coil for generating a magnetic field, said coil being formed by slitting the wall of a pot-like contact carrier. The outer diameter of the slitted wall of the pot-like carrier is smaller than the diameter of the contact plate located thereon. The switching contact is also provided with an annular supporting body which is inserted between the contact plate and the base of the contact carrier and surrounds the contact carrier at least in the slitted region. A vacuum gap is provided between the outer supporting body and the slitted wall.

  • Patent number: 6373669
Abstract: In switchgear with superordinate power circuit-breakers and a plurality of subordinate power circuit-breakers, the superordinate power circuit-breaker must be triggered in the event of failure of the subordinate power circuit-breakers. This is accomplished as follows: electrical post-arc currents are detected after current zero, the electrical post-arc currents are compared with a predetermined limit value, and if the limit value is exceeded, a signal is effected for triggering the superordinate power circuit-breaker in the switchgear. This method can advantageously be implemented in particular in the case of vacuum circuit-breakers with at least one vacuum interrupter. The associated arrangement has a device which monitors the subordinate power circuit-breakers and, if appropriate, triggers the superordinate power circuit-breaker.

  • Patent number: 6140599
Abstract: A contact configuration for vacuum switches includes two mutually opposite switch parts having a predetermined radius R.sub.K. Each switch part has slots which proceed from a center and which extend outward to form a spiral contact. The contours of the slots have a variable radius with a foot which coincides with the center of the switch part. Preferably, the slots end at a recess which has a predetermined radius R.sub.I and lies at the center of the switch part or they slightly overlap the recess, where R.sub.I .apprxeq.0.25-0.33 .multidot.R.sub.K. Specific mathematical functions can be specified for the slot contours.

  • Patent number: 5244428
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a stripline laser which is composed of a plurality of constituent parts assembled together with at least two of the parts being soldered to one another, characterized by the step of soldering being by a soft solder, subsequently cleaning the interior of the assembled laser by subjecting it to the influence of a plasma treatment, continuing the plasma treatment to passivate the interior surfaces of the assembled parts of the laser, and limiting the temperature of the parts joined together by the soft solder to, at most, 150.degree. during each of the plasma treatments. The method is particularly suitable for utilization to form a CO.sub.2 stripline laser, and includes adding a CO.sub.2 gas during the second or continued plasma treatment for passivating the surfaces by saturating them with CO.sub.2.

  • Patent number: 4367508
Abstract: A current limiter which is electrically arranged in series with a circuit breaker, the current limiter having contacts which are movable with respect to one another in an axial direction. A spring having a nonlinear characteristic is provided for producing a force which tends to counteract the motion of the contacts away from one another. While the contacts are in a closed position, the spring exerts a small closing force, thereby permitting the contacts to open by the force of overcurrent. Such opening produces an arc which causes a wall of arcing chamber to emit gas, thereby pressurizing the arcing chamber and causing further opening of the contacts. As the contacts are opened, the nonlinear spring characteristic increasingly tends to prevent the motion of the contacts, thereby reducing mechanical stress within the limiter.
