  • Patent number: 5667199
Abstract: A railing made of prefabricated standard components with railing rods, connecting elements between the railing rods and with railing panels. Each of the railing rods consists of a longitudinal part which can be secured to the building body, as well as a bent short end. The short end of the railing rods can be inserted longitudinally slidable into the connecting elements. The longitudinal part of each railing rod to be mounted is held in a transverse throughbore of the connecting element. The connecting elements are designed as handrail segments which have a blind bore in longitudinal direction for receiving the short end of a railing rod and transversely thereto a throughbore for the vertical longitudinal part of the railing rod to be mounted. Further on the longitudinal part of the railing rods panel holders are adjustably arranged for fastening the railing panel.

  • Patent number: 4512572
Abstract: A support structure has laterally spaced ramps alongside a vertical post with a cable connected to a drive system and to a bed, which bed can be moved from near horizontal to vertical and beyond to suspend someone from foot holding devices on the bed. One version has a lost motion detent to permit the user to hang free of the bed. Another version has a pillow on the bed to help support him.

  • Patent number: 4438608
Abstract: Pie shaped stairtreads are mounted to a vertical column with spacers to provide a desired riser height. Each tread includes a tubular sleeve with a T-shaped frame welded to the sleeve. The frame extends peripherally of the pie shaped tread and includes two radially sides and a short arcuate segment welded to the outer radial ends opposite the tubular sleeve. The tread includes a perforated steel plate welded to the frame, which plate and frame are covered by a polyurethane foam. A railing rod can be mounted to the outer arcuate frame segment by bracket means clamped to the web of the T in either one of two positions for left hand or right hand stairway installations.

  • Patent number: 4289303
Abstract: A hand-rail element has a metal pipe core, which is easily bent, and a soft plastic foam surrounding the pipe and having an outer surface contoured to simulate leather graining or the like. Several elements can be joined end-to-end by means of threaded nipples, and a hand-rail support is also disclosed, which permits assembly of these parts by a worker who need only use a portable power drill for on-site installation.

  • Patent number: 3945156
Abstract: A building structure comprising a lattice-like network of support elements connected together at junctures to form a three-dimensional frame supporting a fabric-like canopy or skin laid thereover as an enclosure and wherein a resilient ball-like buffer is supported by the frame at each juncture point to engage the canopy and thus to prevent its direct engagement with the frame at the juncture points to reduce its wear and stress.
