  • Patent number: 5176884
Abstract: In a sterilizing container with a perforated zone which can be covered over in relation to the interior of the container by a filter designed so that it can be displaced and covered over, in order to improve the protection of the filter, on the one hand, and the sealing-off of a bypass under different operating conditions, on the other hand, it is proposed that force elements be used for displacing a covering disc of the filter and the filter itself which change the displacement forces acting on the covering disc and on the filter, respectively, as a function of the temperature.

  • Patent number: 5108400
Abstract: In a striking tool for surgical instruments with a sleeve-shaped gripping part, a tool holder which is slidingly displaceable in the latter in the longitudinal direction thereof, and an oscillatingly driven piston which is slidingly displaceable in the gripping part in the longitudinal direction thereof and has two striking surfaces which strike corresponding contact surfaces of the tool holder and thereby act upon the latter with impulses acting in opposite directions, to enable selective generation of blows in the striking direction and in the pulling-out direction without converting the tool, it is proposed that the actual stroke of the piston in the gripping part be limited such that is it smaller than the double-strike stroke which the piston would have to cover, with the tool holder held firmly in the gripping part, from the striking of the first striking surface against the contact surface to the striking of the second striking surface against the second contact surface, and that the tool holder be mou

  • Patent number: 4796778
Abstract: In a locking mechanism, in particular, for fixing filter holders on sterilizing containers, with a housing in which a locking member is displaceable between two end positions, namely a first end position in which it engages behind a locking projection, and a second end position in which it releases the locking projection, with a spring means which biases the locking member in the direction towards the first end position, and with an actuating member protruding from the housing for displacement of the locking member, in order to ensure that unlocking does not occur if the actuating member is unintentionally actuated, it is suggested that a second actuating member be provided and that the actuating members be arranged on the housing on opposite sides thereof and be actuatable by displacement in the direction towards the respective other actuating member, the locking mechanism only being unlockable if both actuating members are actuated.

  • Patent number: 4319577
Abstract: A skull trepanation drill having a drive shaft, a main cutter engageable with the drive shaft under axial force and a sleeve-shaped housing slidable axially and rotatably on the drive shaft and provided at its free end with an auxiliary cutter. In use, the sleeve-shaped housing is restrained from axial movement on the drive shaft by a locking body extending into recesses in the housing and drive shaft. The housing is manually releasable from the drive shaft for cleaning by rotation of a cam on the latter. The cam moves a lock bolt axially of the drive shaft to a position permitting the locking body to retract from the recess in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4240432
Abstract: A mucotome or mucous membrane cutter for mucogingival membrane surgery is disclosed. The mucotome comprises a handle having a small, compactly designed cutting head arranged on its forward end, the cutting head including a circular cylindrical blade-holding roller which is reciprocable parallel to the blade edge in a guide by means of a drive shaft having an eccentric crank pin engaging in cross grooves of the blade-holding roller. A cutting shoe is mounted to the ends of the blade-holding roller and is rotatable relative to the cutting head through a limited angle. The cutting head is also selectively positionable in at least two angular positions relative to its support. The cutting blade is secured in a longitudinal radial slot in the roller and projects therefrom through a guide slit formed in a crosspiece of the cutting shoe. The construction and arrangement of the cutting head and cutting shoe assure a compact, versatile structure having a number of adjustment possibilities.
