  • Patent number: 4658644
Abstract: A manometer device for continuous monitoring of the air pressure in vehicle tires is described which consists of a manometric capsule and an electrical indicator device associated therewith. A flatly conical membrane with a cylindrical projection is arranged transversely through the interior space of the manometric capsule. A permanent magnet is inserted in this projection. The membrane divides the interior space of the manometric capsule into two chambers, of which one chamber is stressed with a nominal pressure and the other chamber is connected to the pressure space of a vehicle tire. A stationary sensor, which is associated with the manometric capsule to be mounted on a rim flange, responds to linear magnetic field variations and transmits the latter to a terminal.

  • Patent number: 4574967
Abstract: A sealing cap for a container provided with a safety valve is described, this sealing cap consisting of a bottom part which can be screwed onto the container neck and firmly locked there and of a top part which can be screwed onto the bottom part. The bottom part serves to seal absolutely the container neck provided with the safety valve, by compressing, in a moisture-tight manner, the joint between the edge of the container neck and a molding forming the valve support. The bottom part, fixed in position by retaining tabs and detent lugs, and capable of being loosened only by force, remains fixedly connected to the container during use. The top part can be unscrewed.

  • Patent number: 4510629
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for flushing a water closet by utilizing water and air for the flushing. The method operates at predetermined pressure ratios. At an air pressure of maximally about 3 bar inside of a pressure vessel the flushing medium consisting of air/water is fed into the pressure vessel, and if the pressure exceeds 3 bar, water only is fed into the pressure vessel. In order to feed water and air a water-jet injection is used which on the one hand communicates via an infeed line with the water mains and on the other hand communicates via an infeed stub at the suction side with the ambient air. The air/water mixture is fed through an infeed line into the pressure vessel, which infeed line ends in a space of the pressure vessel which is occupied by an air cushion. The relative pressures allows a two step flushing which is governed by an accordingly designed discharge valve in the outflow conduit of the pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 4452485
Abstract: An adjustable-curvature structure, e.g. for seat backs, comprises a pair of support belts which are flexible but substantially inextensible, and a pair of tension belts juxtaposed with the support belts. A grid of transverse bars can span the support belts and a tension device is provided between the two pairs of belts so that the support belts can be bowed when the other belts are placed under tension. The curvature character is controlled by spacers which interconnect the support and tension belts to limit the distance between them at various locations along their lengths.

  • Patent number: 4393141
Abstract: To examine urine for particulate constituents, the urine is pased through a filter of synthetic fibers that are soluble in alcohol or in an alcohol-water mixture immediately after withdrawal. The filter material together with the constituents retained in it is then immediately dissolved in a cell-fixing solvent, in which it is protected from environmental influences and stored until it is examined. An appropriate device for the implementation of this method consists of a urine collector and a filter cartridge which is fastened to the collector by a spring catch and can be detached after the urine has been passed through the filter, and connected liquid-tight with a storage vessel containing the solvent.

  • Patent number: 4349134
Abstract: A safety container for dispensing highly flammable liquids is described, which comprises flexible compressible container walls and a safety valve which is designed as a membrane-controlled cone valve, closable by a cap. The membrane exhibits a central hole bounded by a sealing edge, through which a valve cone is inserted and contacted by the sealing edge. The cone valve is operated by pressing the flexible container walls together and thereby reducing the interior space of the container and raising the internal pressure.
