Patent number: 10537906Abstract: In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, “Flairosol” dispensing devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol-like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Such a dispensing device has, for example, a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring. The device further has a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a container, for example, the inner container of a Flair® bottle, and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates a trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve, which serve to prevent backflow.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2017Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Inventors: Wilhelmus Johannes Joseph Maas, Petrus Lambertus Wilhelmus Hurkmans, Paolo Nervo, Aaron S. Patent number: 10456798Abstract: In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, Flair® based aerosol-type devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Such a dispensing device has a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring. The device further has a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a reservoir and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates the trigger in various compression and release strokes. Patent number: 9714133Abstract: “Flairosol” dispensing devices are presented. They utilize a combination of Flair® technology, precompression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. An exemplary device has a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring, a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a container, and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates a trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve, which serve to prevent backflow. A dome valve can be provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head, such that once its pressure is exceeded by the liquid, it opens and allows for a spray. Publication number: 20170072416Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid dispensing device comprising: a piston chamber; a piston that is moveable within the piston chamber to pressurise a liquid to be dispensed; a nozzle with a defined throughput for dispensing the liquid; an outlet valve having a defined minimum opening pressure arranged between the piston chamber and the nozzle; and a prime valve for priming the device. The prime valve may be mechanically operable and may be arranged on or in the piston. The liquid dispensing device may further comprise an operating member, which may protrude from an end wall of the piston chamber and which may be arranged to move the prime valve from a closed position to an open position when the moveable piston is near or at an end of its stroke. The outlet valve may be configured to minimize a difference between its opening pressure and its closing pressure. It may comprise a dome and the dome may have a stiffness which varies in radial direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2015Publication date: March 16, 2017Inventors: Wilhelmus Johannes Joseph MAAS, Paulo NERVO

Patent number: 9586222Abstract: A precompression system for a liquid dispensing device is presented, that prevents liquid from being discharged until a predetermined pressure has been built up. The system comprises a pump for drawing liquid through an inlet and discharging it through an outlet, and a precompression valve disposed between the pump and the outlet. The valve allows liquid in the pump to reach the outlet once the predetermined pressure is established, and stops liquid from reaching the outlet once the pressure falls below it. The precompression valve comprises an elastic diaphragm normally closing the valve opening, with a concave surface facing the valve opening and in fluid communication with the pump and a convex surface in fluid communication with atmospheric pressure. The diaphragm may be stretched around a valve seat. Methods of assembling such a precompression system in a dispensing device are also presented.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2012Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: AFA Polytek B.V.Inventors: Wilhelmus Johannes Joseph Maas, Petrus Lambertus Wilhelmus Hurkmans

Publication number: 20140246506Abstract: Dispensing devices can include buffers. This obviates the need for continually pumping the device to dispense spray or foam. A buffer can be spring loaded, spring loaded combination, elastomeric or gas, and can be in line or adjacent to a piston chamber. Such sprayers and foamers can be mounted upside down. With a buffer, a piston chamber can deliver a greater amount of liquid per unit time than can be dispensed through the nozzle(s). The fraction of liquid that cannot be dispensed can be sent to the buffer for dispensing after the piston downstroke has completed. Volume of the piston chamber and buffer, pressure response of the buffer, throughput of the nozzle, and the minimum opening pressure of the outlet valve can be arranged to restrict the outlet pressures of liquid droplets exiting the nozzle within a defined range.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: September 4, 2014Applicant: DISPENSING TECHNOLOGIES B.V.Inventors: Wilhelmus Johannes Joseph Maas, Dominicus Jan van Wijk, Paolo Nervo, Petrus Lambertus Wilhelmus Hurkmans, Aaron Haleva

Publication number: 20140239018Abstract: In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, various new generation dispensing devices can be provided. Such devices are vertically aligned, provide greater than 1.0 cc per piston stroke, and can involve a range of sprayer heads and sprayer/foamer systems incorporating such heads. Such novel sprayer heads can include a novel stretched piston, or, for example, the standard separate piston and piston chamber configuration. By using integration of parts, and a novel dome valve, exemplary sprayers are more easily manufactured, and have better operating properties. Finally, pre-compression is such novel valves is supplied by a novel dome valve with binary behavior, and minimal hysteresis.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: August 28, 2014Applicant: DISPENSING TECHNOLOGIES B.V.Inventors: Wilhelmus Johannes Joseph Maas, Dominicus Jan van Wijk, Paolo Nervo, Petrus Lambertus Wilhelmus Hurkmans, Aaron Haleva
