  • Publication number: 20050182946
Abstract: A method and computer device for generating a pseudo-random value string of N characters for an authentication token. The method partitions a message digest into at least one segment, each segment comprising a number of consecutive bits from the message digest, wherein the segments are consecutive when taken together, such that a first segment begins with the most significant bit and a last segment ends with the least significant bit. For each segment, the method converts the bits to a decimal value, and compares the decimal value to a set of satisfactory values, wherein each entry in the set includes a valid decimal value and a corresponding character representation. When the decimal value matches a valid decimal value in set of satisfactory values and the length of the pseudo-random value is less than N, the method appends the corresponding character representation of the decimal value to the pseudo- random value.

  • Publication number: 20050152586
Abstract: A method for print analysis comprising extracting a plurality of block segments from a subject print, detecting a ridge line in each of said plurality of block segments, assigning a first directional value to each of said plurality of block segments, said first directional value corresponding to an orientation position of said ridge line, comparing each of said first directional values with a corresponding second directional value of a template print to determine if a match exists between each sample from said subject print and a corresponding sample from said template print, and affirming verification of said subject print if the number of block segments from said subject print that are determined to match said template print exceeds a predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20050152585
Abstract: A method for print analysis comprising reading a first snapshot image from a plurality of snapshots from a subject print obtained using a print swipe sensor, storing the first snapshot in a memory, comparing the first snapshot against a template print, storing the results of the comparison, repeating the process for each of the snapshot images that comprise the plurality of images, and identifying a match between the subject print and said template print based on the stored results.

  • Publication number: 20040243856
Abstract: The present invention comprises a system and method for accessing secure information wherein a user signal is read to verify that a user of a device for accessing the information is a valid user. Upon verification of the user, an encrypted passcode is generated and displayed to the user including location information, indicative of the user's proximate location, and a code generated using a user specific code algorithm. The resulting passcode is forwarded to an issuer of the device and validated, thereby authorizing or denying the user access to the requested information.

  • Publication number: 20040188298
Abstract: Provided is a system, apparatus and methods of use for the safe and easy handling and disposing of light bulbs. The system provides a disposal tube comprising one or more layers of puncture resistant material and a means for absorbing metals or gasses that may be released when the light bulb is broken, such as by externally striking the disposal tube and the bulb contained therein. The invention also provides a method for using the disposal tube as a means to safely handle and store the light bulbs.

  • Publication number: 20040030660
Abstract: Provided are apparatus, system and methods for accessing information utilizing an authentication system for verifying that a user is an authorized user of the information access device, and that activation of the device is valid to access the information. The authentication system included in the device issued to an authorized user, reads a user's fingerprint using a reader and compares the user's fingerprint as read with a stored fingerprint of the authorized user of the device, thereby determining if the user is the authorized user. If the user is the authorized user, a pseudo-random generator generates a personal identification number for use by the user to validate activation of the device for accessing information.

  • Patent number: 4976435
Abstract: Disclosed is an adapter for driving control inputs of a video game system, providing a plurality of selectable functional relationships between a set of input signals and the control inputs, and includes an output section for communicating with the system, a receiver for the input signals, and a microprocessor converter for driving the output section in response to the input signals and for changing a functional relationship between the input signals and the output section according to a configuration selector. The configuration selector defines a first function wherein one of the control inputs is responsive to a particular input signal, and a second function wherein a different one of the control inputs is responsive to the input signal. The first and second functions advantageously provide selective transformations between frames of reference of the input signals and the video game itself whereby video games having differing frames of reference can be operated within the same user frame of reference.
