  • Patent number: 11949845
Abstract: During operation of a machine, an understanding of terrain features is critical. Accordingly, disclosed embodiments augment a video stream, captured by a camera mounted on the machine, with terrain information. In particular, an overlay is generated on at least one image frame. The overlay, which may comprise one or more semi-transparent bands, may cyclically recede from a foreground to a background of the image frame(s), cyclically advance from a background to a foreground of the image frame(s), or cyclically move horizontally across the image frame(s). The overlay may be colorized to illustrate the height of the terrain underneath the overlay.

  • Patent number: 11914914
Abstract: A system includes a display screen positioned to display on an exterior of a host vehicle, a user interface of the host vehicle, and a computer communicatively coupled to the display screen and the user interface. The computer is programmed to, in response to detecting a target vehicle having prespecified indicia, instruct the user interface to output an instruction to an occupant of the host vehicle, and in response to detecting personnel from the target vehicle, instruct the display screen to output a message to the personnel.

  • Patent number: 11841861
Abstract: Service interruptions in a multi-tenancy, network-based storage system can be mitigated by constraining the execution of queries. In various examples, a network-based storage system may receive a request to execute a query against data maintained by the network-based storage system. The network-based storage system may perform a unit of work to execute the query, progressing through some, but not all, of a set of operations that are to be completed for completing execution of the query. Upon completion of the unit of work, query execution may be paused, query state data may be saved, and query results may be generated for consumption by the requesting computing device. In some embodiments, tokens that are usable to resume query execution based on the saved query state data may be sent to customer computing devices for resuming query execution on-demand.

  • Publication number: 20230304529
Abstract: An automobile vehicle crankshaft including a crankshaft casting of a nodular iron. The crankshaft casting includes multiple main journals coaxially aligned on a common crankshaft casting axis. Multiple crankpin journals are fixedly connected to the main journals by individual webs. Multiple lightening holes have individual ones of the multiple lightening holes integrally formed within individual ones of the crankpin journals during casting. A bubble space is located proximate to a mid-portion of selected ones of the multiple lightening holes of the crankpin journals. The bubble space locally increases a passage size of the selected ones of the multiple lightening holes and reduces a mass of the individual ones of the crankpin journals.

  • Publication number: 20230278188
Abstract: The present invention relates to a housing clamp for a power tool housing, such as a drill, router, grinder, impact wrench, ratchet wrench, screwdriver, or other powered tool. The housing clamp includes a circumferential flange and recess that extends at an angle. When the housing clamp is installed, the housing clamp couples two portions of a power tool housing together. As the housing clamp is tightened onto the housing portions, the flange loads the housing with even pressure around its circumference providing a clamping load. The housing clamp provides even pressure around a large area at a working end of the tool, allowing the tool to be thinner in a dimensionally critical area.

  • Patent number: 11655776
Abstract: An automobile vehicle engine includes multiple water jackets individually formed in a cast engine block proximate to successive ones of multiple cylinder bores. Multiple cast-in place transition regions are individually formed during a casting operation of the cast engine block at entrances to individual ones of the multiple water jackets. Individual ones of multiple sawcuts open into individual ones of the multiple cast-in place transition regions.

  • Patent number: 11630838
Abstract: Techniques for implementing conflict-free replicated data types in a database are described. A first database replica of a database hosted by a provider network receives an identifier of a first operation to perform on an element stored in the database, the element being of a conflict-free replicated data type. A second database replica of the database receives an identifier of a second operation to perform on the element. The second operation is determined to not conflict with the first operation. The first operation and the second operation are performed on the element stored by the first database replica. The first operation and the second operation are performed on the element stored by the second database replica.

  • Patent number: 11602833
Abstract: A direction selector mechanism for a hand-held power tool that includes internal linkages that move an actuation point of a direction selection from above the trigger (as in previous tools) to a top of the tool. For example, the control for the direction selector mechanism includes a direction toggle positioned on a top of the tool, and that is movable by a user to select either of first and second rotational directions (e.g. clockwise and counter-clockwise). This position/location allows the user to select or change between the first and second rotational directions with a user's thumb for both direction changes, in either hand ambidextrously, and places the trigger actuation higher up in the tool, closer to the axis of output of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20210342506
Abstract: A computer-aided engineering (CAE) toolkit is disclosed that streamlines and automates aspects of a CAE simulation to validate the designs of pressure-controlling components, such as BOP rams. The CAE toolkit enables a designer to provide a model of a pressure-controlling component, and to provide property values that describe aspects of the system to be modeled. Based on these inputs, the CAE toolkit generates a model for the system that includes the pressure-controlling component, as well as any other components that will be part of the simulation. The CAE toolkit can automatically generate a finite element analysis (FEA) model from the system model, and then use the FEA model to perform a simulation of the pressure-controlling component during operation. The CAE toolkit enables a designer with no training or experience with CAE or FEA techniques to perform and automate simulations of the operation of a pressure-controlling component design.

  • Patent number: 11086531
Abstract: Scaling events may be detected for hosting hierarchical data structures. Scaling events may be detected to modify the capacity of a data store for hierarchical data structures to handle changing write workloads, read workloads, or storage capacity. Hierarchical data structures may be moved from one group of storage hosts to another group of storage hosts according to a filtered snapshot that includes the hierarchical data structures to be moved that is provided to the destination storage hosts. Changes made to the hierarchical data structures made at the source storage hosts during the move can be applied to the filtered snapshot so that the hierarchical data structures may be made available at the destination storage hosts inclusive of the changes.
