  • Patent number: 8549619
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for authenticating a removable data storage device (RDSD) by implementing a removable trusted information module (TIM) comprising a non-volatile storage medium operable to securely store passwords, digital keys, digital certificates and other security credentials (“security credentials”). An RDSD enclosure comprising a disk storage drive, one or more interfaces, one or more connectors, and a TIM is implemented to be connected, disconnected and reconnected to a plurality of predetermined information handling systems. The RDSD is authenticated by the TIM initiating comparison and cryptographic operations between its contents and the contents of authentication files comprising the RDSD. Once the RDSD has been authenticated, the TIM performs similar operations to authorize access and usage of its contents by the information handling system. Other cryptographic operations are performed to determine whether the integrity of data files has been compromised.

  • Publication number: 20130204645
Abstract: A mobile insurance architecture includes a wireless communication interface that connects mobile client devices to wireless networks. An insurance server cluster that includes a group of independent network servers operates and appears to mobile client devices as if the group of independent network servers were a single computer server. An adaptive transmission controller communicates with the insurance server cluster and processes content in multiple mobile formats that may be optimized to the screen sizes of the mobile client devices. The insurance server cluster responds to native application clients resident to the mobile client devices. The native application clients contain code stored on a non-transitory media that render insurance quoting services, insurance claims services, on-line insurance policy services, usage based insurance services, mobile monitoring services, or insurance agency management services.

  • Publication number: 20120204888
Abstract: The present invention is a smoking device which departs from a traditional “bowl and stem” design utilized for centuries, and rather comprises a series of generally cylindrically shaped layers that when stacked and secured together provide the user an effective means to safely store, transport and smoke a plurality of smoking materials. The smoking device may incorporate a bowl selection ranging in number between seven (7) to an unlimited amount, depending upon the size, desired portability and intended use. A rotatable bowl selector dial which positions a flame inlet over one of the plurality of bowls in an adjacent smoking material retention cartridge offers a means for easy bowl selection. The user may draw from the plurality of smoking materials without inhaling smoke from, or through excess burnt ash. The smoking device may further be utilized as a practical means of proportionally and consistently regulating each draw of tobacco smoke.
