    Abstract: A paper feed device includes a cassette, a main body, an actuator, a first elastic member, and a guide member. The actuator reciprocates between first and second directions in the second direction intersecting the first direction. The first elastic member urges the actuator. The guide member includes a base end portion, a front end portion, and a guide unit. The guide unit includes an apex portion overhanging in an opposite direction to the second direction. The base end portion is located at a third position in the second direction. The front end portion is movable between the third and a fourth position separated more than at the first position in the second direction. The guide unit is provided so that the apex portion can be disposed at the same position as an end of the actuator in the second direction at the second position.

In one embodiment, the method includes utilizing a neural network (NN) pre-processor to convert generic coordinates associated with a dynamical system to canonical coordinates, concatenating a Hamiltonian neural network (HNN) to the NN pre-processor to create a generalized HNN, and training the generalized HNN to learn nonlinear dynamics present in the dynamical system from generic training data. The method also includes utilizing the trained generalized HNN to forecast the nonlinear dynamics, and quantifying chaotic behavior from the forecasted nonlinear dynamics to discover and map one or more transitions between orderly states and chaotic states exhibited by the dynamical system.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method, apparatus, and software for passive, non-destructive assay of holdup deposits in nuclear piping by in-pipe apparatus. A detector deployed within a pipe is collimated to observe radiation impinging radially inward from decay of deposits that lie on the pipe wall. A radiation detector is centered in the pipe and collimated by a pair of coaxial shielding discs disposed equidistant from the detector. This arrangement causes radiation from a truncated cylinder of pipe deposit within a field of regard to impinge on the detector, while precluding radiation emanating from pipe walls beyond the field of regard from reaching the detector. Hence, observations are unique to a known cylindrical length of pipe. The detector assembly is translated through pipes by an autonomous mobile robotic apparatus. Computer software controls the robotic apparatus, logs data, and post-processes to assay deposits.
