  • Publication number: 20040056513
Abstract: The present invention relates to providing a clear unobstructed view of the immediate area behind a Skid Steer Loader. More specifically, it provides for better safety while backing. Two designs accomplish the unobstructed rear view as follows: 1) A single mirror is mounted onto each of two front support posts of the operator safety enclosure. These mirrors are adjustable, similar to outside mounted automobile mirrors and normally positioned near the top of the support posts. 2) A single mirror is center mounted to a hinged bracket that can easily be moved out of the way when the operator exits the safety enclosure of the Skid Steer Loader. For cold weather operation Skid Steer Loaders are often outfitted with a weather tight safety enclosure and a front door. Both of these designs accommodate the weather tight enclosure with a front door and the more common safety enclosure without a front door.

  • Patent number: 5981101
Abstract: A modular cell tray assembly comprising a series of cell trays stacked one upon the other and each containing a plurality of sealed lead-acid cells is disclosed in which the cell trays provide cell tray interlocks and load distribution structure that satisfy Zone 4 requirements, achieve cell tray interlocking by a boltless pin and provide frontal access to the cells.

  • Patent number: 4860880
Abstract: A conveyor system for rod-like articles, particularly cigarettes, includes a transfer conveyor comprising twisting endless bands arranged to convey a multiple-layer stream of articles in a direction transverse to the lengths of the articles and to twist the stream about an axis generally parallel to the conveyance direction. Also disclosed is a conveyor system in which at least one stream of substantially horizontal rod-like articles is twisted and conveyed to a junction beyond which a mutltiple-layer stream of substantially vertical articles is conveyed. The conveyor systems are particularly useful for "tip turning" filter cigarettes so that a stream on a first conveyor may be combined with a parallel stream on a second conveyor after being twisted and laterally displaced by the transfer conveyor so that the filter tip ends of both streams are on the same side.

  • Patent number: 4591171
Abstract: Means are provided to introduce pressurized fluid from a source into an intermittently rotated machine tool such as a chuck while the tool is stationary. The means includes a stationary annular shell surrounding a portion of the tool and radially spaced a short distance from the surface of the tool. The inside of the shell has a channel which seats an annular flexible U-shaped seal the radially outer ends of the legs of which are rigidly secured to the shell. The inner face of the seal is a web having a relatively stiff center band which, under fluid pressure is forced to shift into contact with the surface of the tool to form a seal on each side of a groove in the tool's surface. A restricted opening permits fluid from the inside of the seal to be introduced into the groove to supply the tool.

  • Patent number: 4350242
Abstract: A cigarette elevator for conveying upwards a stack-like stream of cigarettes comprises substantially parallel upwardly-extending conveyors of which at least one has transversely extending ribs on its operative face for engaging the cigarettes, a first pulley around which the ribbed conveyor passes at the upper end of the elevator, and a second pulley which is adjacent to the first pulley and has an axis of rotation which is parallel to (but slightly offset from) the axis of rotation of the first pulley, and including a substantially horizontal conveyor which passes around the second pulley, the arrangement being such that the ribs on the ribbed conveyor disappear progressively below the upper surface of the horizontal conveyor.

  • Patent number: 3988916
Abstract: The disclosure of this invention pertains to a strip guiding mechanism for use with a rotating mandrel around which strip is wound into a coil. The guiding mechanism consists of two carriages movable in opposite radial directions towards and away from the mandrel. The carriages are mounted on a common frame that is movable in an axial direction of the mandrel to a position in front thereof after the coil has been started and then the frame is rotated to remove the carriage from the front of the mandrel to allow on completion the removal of the coil from the mandrel.
