Abstract: A laser level that is mounted within a housing with the housing being pivotally movable relative to a base. The base is then to be placeable in conjunction with a hinge plate assembly composed of a main plate and an adjusting plate with the adjustable plate being also pivotally movable relative to the main plate. The result is the housing is pivotable in a clockwise direction within a first range of motion and then is pivotable in a counterclockwise direction within a second range of motion. The laser level of this invention is to project a laser beam onto a wall with the laser beam being in the form of a horizontal line or a vertical line and horizontal line. The vertical line is to be aligned with a particular mark on a wall. The horizontal line can be aligned with a wall/floor joint so that the horizontal line will be parallel to this joint when the horizontal line is moved away from the wall/floor joint and projected at a selected height on the wall.

Abstract: A utility knife which has a blade of usage which is extendable from an extended/usage position to a retracted/storage position. The housing of the utility knife includes a blade storage compartment within which is mounted a blade dispenser. The blade dispenser is designed to hold a stack of replacement knife blades. The blade dispenser is movable between a closed and an open position, and when in the closed position the blade dispenser is confined within the housing of the utility knife, and when in the open position a single replacement blade can be removed to be substituted for the blade of usage that is mounted in a position for usage within the utility knife.

Abstract: A utility knife which has a slidable blade carrier located within an internal chamber of a housing. When the blade carrier is extended it has mounted thereon an engaging block with this engaging block being biased by a single spring to an outer engaging position which will connect the engaging block with the innermost blade of the stack of blades and sliding movement of the blade carrier will result in that innermost blade to protrude from the housing. The engaging block is mounted by a pair of pins which are mounted on the blade carrier. Movement of the blade carrier is accomplished by a thumb button where the inner portion of the thumb button is laterally displaced from the outer portion of the thumb button in order to maximize the space within a blade storage chamber formed within the housing.

Abstract: A cutting shear which is formed of a pair of members pivotally mounted in a scissors arrangement. Each member has a jaw member and a handle member, and within one of the handle members is mounted an internal chamber which is closeable by a removable cap located at the outermost end of this handle member. A bail is mounted on the cap and is to be connectable with the opposite handle member to lock the cutting shear in a closed position. One of the jaw members includes a cutting blade with the cutting blade having a cutting edge which is mounted non-parallel to its jaw member.
