  • Patent number: 5780545
Abstract: This invention provides a release agent consisting of a blend of non-poly(alkylene oxide)-functionalized poly(organosiloxane) fluid and poly(alkylene oxide)-functionalized poly(organosiloxane) fluid and an antioxidant which when used at elevated temperatures does not separate into two phases and does not cause an objectionable odor, or pump failure. The release agent is particularly suited for application to a fuser member for fusing toner images to a receiver.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 1996
Date of Patent: July 14, 1998
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Jiann Hsing Chen, Robert Albert Guistina, William Bernard Vreeland
  • Patent number: 5679463
Abstract: There is described a fuser member having a layer comprising a condensation-cured poly(dimethyl siloxane) elastomer filled with a mixture of tin oxide and zinc oxide whereinthe layer contains from about 5 to about 40 volume percent of said mixture and wherein the proportion of tin oxide to zinc oxide in said mixture is between about 25:1 and 1:25 by volume. The fuser member exhibits a good combination of properties such as improved creep resistance, decreased weight loss, improved hardness stability, or improved thermal conductivity compared with members using other filler materials, for example, tin oxide alone or zinc oxide alone.

Date of Patent: October 21, 1997
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Susan Ann Visser, William Bernard Vreeland, Charles Eugene Hewitt
  • Patent number: 5677022
Abstract: This invention provides a roller mask for use as part of a transfer roller in an electrostatographic machine consisting of a dimensionally stable base, polymeric material adhered to the base, and means for mounting the base onto a roller core.
