  • Publication number: 20060252574
Abstract: An improved golf club head having an internal impact assembly configured to improve the direction and distance of travel of a golf ball. The impact assembly is configured to impact the inside wall of the club face at an impact spot immediately after the golf ball is hit to provide a kick to the golf ball so as to direct it along the desired direction of travel. In one embodiment, the impact assembly is disposed in a club head cavity and comprises an internal tube having an impact member that travels inside the tube to contact the impact spot. In another embodiment, the impact member travels in a channel provided in a solid golf club head. Preferably, the impact member is a ball that rolls in the tube or channel. A spring can be provided in the tube or channel at end opposite the impact spot.

The impact assembly is configured to impact the inside wall of the club face at an impact spot immediately after the golf ball is hit to provide a kick to the golf ball so as to direct it along the desired direction of travel. The impact assembly is in a club head cavity and comprises a support member attached to the cavity, a spaced apart hammer member and a connecting member interconnecting the support member and hammer member. In a preferred embodiment, the connecting member is fixed to the support member and configured, such as being made out of graphite or the like, to flex the hammer member into the impact spot. In an alternative embodiment the connecting member is pivotally connected to the support member.

  • Publication number: 20060035734
Abstract: An improved football sled for training football players has a frame with one or more upwardly extending blocking units attached thereto, an action signal device for signaling to the player to strike the blocking unit and a control unit for operatively controlling the action signal device. Each of the blocking units has a force measurement device disposed at the striking area thereof that is operatively connected to the control unit. The control unit is configured to measure, display and analyze the player's reaction time in response to the signal from the action signal device and the amount of force the player is able to impact against the blocking unit. The action signal device can be a visual or an audible signal. In the preferred embodiment, the action signal device comprises a mechanism for slideably moving a football so as to best simulate the hiking conditions experienced during a football game.
