  • Patent number: 10687666
Abstract: A cooking appliance has a base with an upstanding wall defining a hollow interior with an opening. The base is configured to support a cooking grate adjacent to the opening. A lid is configured to be removably attached to the base and allow access to the cooking grate. An electrical cooking element is spaced from the grate and positioned in the hollow interior. A passage is formed in the upstanding wall and has a closure moveable between a closed position and an open position. In the open position, the passage receives and supports the cooking element in the hollow interior of the base to enable cooking with electricity via the cooking element. In the closed position, the closure of the passage at least partially blocks access through the passage into the hollow interior to enable cooking with a combustible solid material deposited in the base without the cooking element.

  • Patent number: 9615586
Abstract: A food cutter has a cutting portion and a movable portion that is movable between a first position in which the movable portion is raised relative to the cutting portion and a second position in which the movable position is lowered relative to the cutting portion. The cutting portion comprises an upstanding wall with a blade formed on a distal end of the upstanding wall. The movable portion is arranged generally traverse to the upstanding wall. A biasing member extends continuously from the upstanding wall to the movable portion. The biasing member urges the movable portion to the first position when the movable portion is moved to the second position.

  • Publication number: 20160120359
Abstract: A drip beverage machine allows for steeping and brewing. The machine has a drip valve mounted at a liquid outlet at a bottom of a basket arranged in the machine. An arm may extend from the drip valve. A lever may be provided to actuate the drip valve. One end of the lever may be arranged above the arm, and the other end of the lever may be connected with an acting drive device. The drive device may cause the lever to rotate into abutment against the arm so as to move the drip valve to close the liquid outlet thereby allowing for steeping and brewing of the product in the coffee basket. When steeping and brewing is complete, the drive device may cause the lever to rotate away from the arm so as to open the drip valve and dispense the liquid through the outlet to a pot.

  • Publication number: 20160044951
Abstract: A juice extractor has a fruit receiving cavity having a center axis with first and second cavity portions movable along the center axis between an open position in which the first and second cavity portions are spaced away from each other a distance sufficient to allow a fruit to be inserted therein and a compressed position in which the first and second cavity portions are brought toward each other to compress the fruit. The first cavity portion has a press with a center recess. The second cavity portion has a bowl. The first and second cavity portions have cooperating geometry that allows the first and second cavity portions to be brought toward each other to the compressed position. The fruit receiving cavity has a blade support with cutting blades exposed therefrom. The cutting blades are positioned about the center axis and define planes parallel to the center axis.
