  • Publication number: 20070142039
Abstract: The content access control system has a content permissions field in the Home Location Register database for each mobile subscriber. The content permissions data are managed by a content manager who has content access responsibility for the mobile subscriber pursuant to an existing management relationship, such as parent-child or employer-employee. The content manager initiates a communication connection to a designated content access control administration system and uniquely identifies the subscriber via their mobile communication device identification and assigns one or more content rating access permissions to each identified subscriber. The content rating permissions comprise a definition of the content that is prohibited and/or permitted by indicating via selecting content ratings or other such code definitions to identify the appropriate content.

  • Publication number: 20070142027
Abstract: The system for providing emergency voice mail service includes two components: a first component that informs a calling party that emergency voice mail service has been activated due to an interruption in telephone service provided by the affected local exchange(s), and a second component that provides emergency voice mail service to customers who are displaced from their residences or simply affected by the service outage. The calling party that wishes to leave a message or the customer whose service is interrupted and wishes to listen to their messages calls a nationwide toll free number and is routed to the Emergency Voice Mail System. The caller is asked to enter the telephone number of the customer who is out of service and then can enter a predetermined code to leave a voice mail message or retrieve a voice mail message for the wire-line or wireless customer who is out of service.

  • Publication number: 20060221857
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing enhanced features to multicast users is provided. More particularly, this invention describes a mechanism by which the online content or gaming services can invoke full feature VoIP services offered by a third party VoIP telephony service provider and/or initiate related packet communication services such as instant messaging. This simplifies the complexity of the online content or gaming system and provides the end users with a more feature-rich experience.

  • Publication number: 20060218613
Abstract: A wireless subscriber is able to purchase music or other content from an on-line content provider. The subscriber sends a Short Message Service (SMS) message to an on-line content server indicating a desire to purchase content currently playing on a specified radio station. The on-line content server validates that the end user has a valid account. The on-line content server then queries the specified radio station web server to identify the specific content (e.g., title and artist of a current song). The on-line content server formats a SMS message to the wireless subscriber, which contains the title of the song and the artist and identifies various purchase options. The subscriber responds with an SMS message that confirms a particular purchase option and the requested content is downloaded to the subscriber's PC or wireless communication device.

  • Publication number: 20060218580
Abstract: A feature is disclosed whereby a customer is able to request URLs associated with programming they are watching or listening to. Using a wireless communication device (e.g., a wireless phone), computer or remote control, the customer sends a request to a URL request server indicating a desire to acquire a URL associated with content communicated on a specified broadcast media. Depending on the media, the customer may identify a channel/station associated with the request. Responsive to the request, the URL request server queries a content server associated with the specified broadcast media or a web server associated with a specified channel/station to identify specific content associated with the request. The URL request server queries a URL server or performs an independent search to find URL(s) corresponding to the specific content.

  • Publication number: 20050164686
Abstract: The present system for providing presence enabled call forwarding serves to pass presence and supervision information relating to a user's wireless station set between a cellular communication network and an enterprise communication network, which typically includes a Private Branch Exchange system. The user is provided with the ability to control the forwarding of calls from the enterprise communication network to their cell phone. The user receives a query from the presence system when they activate their cell phone to indicate the availability of call forwarding blocking. The user can update their presence information to indicate that their cell phone is available to receive incoming calls directed to the cell phone, but not available to receive incoming calls that are forwarded from the enterprise communication network.

  • Publication number: 20050113134
Abstract: The present interoperability system serves to pass presence and supervision information relating to a user's wireless station set between a cellular communication network and an enterprise communication network, which typically includes a Private Branch Exchange system. The interoperability system functions to extend the wireless Private Branch Exchange services provided in the enterprise communication network to the cellular communication network based on the presence and supervision data provided by the interoperability system. The provision of ubiquitous service to the user, regardless of their location provides a significant advantage over existing Private Branch Exchange and cellular communication network services. In addition, the user is equipped with only one wireless station set, which can operate as a cordless Private Branch Exchange extension in the office or as a standard wireless station set outside of the office.

  • Publication number: 20050113077
Abstract: The present interoperability system serves to pass presence and supervision information relating to a user's wireless station set between a cellular communication network and an enterprise communication network. The interoperability system functions to extend the services, such as call pick up, provided in the enterprise communication network to the cellular communication network based on the presence and supervision data provided by the interoperability system. The provision of ubiquitous call pick up service is accomplished by transmitting alert signals not only to the user's telephone line in the enterprise communication network to alert members of the call pick up group proximate to the user's office, but also to the user's wireless station set operating in the service area of the cellular communication network as well as members of the call pick up group also operating in the service area of the cellular communication network.

  • Patent number: 4074584
Abstract: A domestic food mixer in which a housing is formed as a base portion and a cover portion, each of plastics material, the base portion having a pair of apertures adjacent one end. A bearing plate is secured in the base portion of the housing in overlying relationship to the apertures, and a pair of pinions each have a lower axial shaft extending on the lower side of the pinion and an upper axial shaft extending on the upper side of the pinion. The lower axial shafts of the pinions are located in the apertures and have a shoulder which rests on the bearing plate. An electric motor includes a frame which rests on locating elements on the base portion and the armature shaft of the electric motor carries a drive worm which is engaged between the pinions. A mounting plate which forms part of the electric motor frame has two apertures therein, one engaging each upper axial shaft, the mounting plate engaging on shoulders of the upper axial shaft.
